February 8, 201411 yr Great for "Hung Up". Had it been released in 2009-2013 or 1997-2001 with the amount of airplay it had, it could have been a million seller.
February 8, 201411 yr But had it been released in the last few years, it wouldn't have had that much airplay...

February 8, 201411 yr I find 'Vogue' very overrated, 'La Isla Bonita' has always been her best imo  so summery. I imagine 'Crazy For You' to be quite high for a non-number one.
February 8, 201411 yr I find 'Vogue' very overrated, 'La Isla Bonita' has always been her best imo  so summery. I imagine 'Crazy For You' to be quite high for a non-number one. Same with "Like A Virgin".
February 8, 201411 yr 'Crazy For You' was released twice and got to #2 both times, that would be very high. Shame 'Sorry' is last, and that 'True Blue' being such a nothing song is that high.
February 8, 201411 yr 4 Minutes deserves to be top, her best song. Mainly down to Trousersnake though.
February 8, 201411 yr MADONNA's TOP 5 BEST SELLING UK SINGLES - TO AUGUST 2008 Madonna is one of the few huge Artists who have 3 Hits, that never reached No.1, in her Top 5 Best Selling UK Singles. (In fact - she's probably the only one). 1 Into The Groove - 1985 - (Aug 2008: 843,561) 2 Like A Virgin - 1984 - (Aug 2008: 768,129) - (No.3 Hit) 3 Holiday - 1984 - (Aug 2008: 752,968) - (No.6 in 1984, No.2 in 1985, & No.5 in 1991) 4 Crazy For You - 1985 - (Aug 2008: 662,481) - (No.2 in 1985, & No.2 in 1991) 5 Papa Don't Preach - 1986 - (Aug 2008: 629,386) Edited February 8, 201411 yr by zeus555
February 9, 201411 yr Sales given for who's that girl are almost 27k less than when they gave it in August 08. La Isla Bonita is also almost 12k lower than then.
February 9, 201411 yr It also has sales for Holiday on 795k , here http://www.officialcharts.com/features/off...op-10-hit-2280/
February 9, 201411 yr I agree that hung up would have prob been a million sellar if it wasn't released in 2005. It's a shame the article didn't give extra info for crazy for you and like a virgin, like it did with beautiful stranger. True Blue really suffers for not ever being featured on any greatest hits album .
February 10, 201411 yr Interesting sales. I know it's been said plenty of times before but it's criminal that Madonna has never had a UK million selling single.
February 10, 201411 yr I thought alot of those songs would have sold more - suppose it depends when its released!
February 10, 201411 yr Wut, why are the sales so low? Lower than Rihanna! Some of these sales are Girls Aloud-esque :S
February 11, 201411 yr It's probably because she had a lot of her bigger hits in climates where singles didn't sell as strongly as they do now. However, those hits helped her sell shedloads of albums in a climate where album sales were stronger, and that's more important. Edited February 11, 201411 yr by mr_aly
