Just received an e-mail about the new series.

Sir Bruce Forsyth is to host a documentary about his late pal Sammy Davis Jr, his first ITV programme for many years.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter will front the film for the network's Perspectives strand which will also see music stars such as Will Young, Gary Kemp and Emeli Sande front shows about figures in the arts.

Sir Bruce, who has been at the helm of BBC1's dance show for a decade, famously announced he was quitting ITV in 2000 unhappy with the way he claimed he was being treated by then programme boss David Liddiment.

In his new documentary he looks back at the lengthy career of Davis - with whom he formed a friendship in 1960 after meeting at a Royal Variety Performance - and the way he broke down race barriers.

Elsewhere in the fourth series of Perspectives, Young looks at Rene Magritte, Sande tells the story of Frida Kahlo and Kemp examines the generation of Young British Artists.

In addition, tenor Alfie Boe presents a programme about Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and comic Alan Davies explores the secrets of Harry Houdini.

ITV's controller of factual Jo Clinton-Davis said: "The key to Perspectives films is a distinctive, individual voice, keen to search for and share fresh insights through genuine, in some cases, life-long passion and curiosity for the chosen subject."

Press Release.

Spring 2014.

Will Young

Having first discovered Rene Magritte’s art as a 14-year-old, singer Will Young was immediately struck by Magritte’s strange distortions of familiar objects and his subversive humour. So much so that Will opened his last tour donning a bowler hat and raincoat, so synonymous with Magritte.

In this film, Will goes in search of Magritte the artist and Magritte the man, along the way peering through the window that famously appears in his work. Following in the footsteps of this most famous of Belgians, Will visits Magritte’s place of birth, the site of a tragedy that struck the Magritte family, and ends his journey at Magritte's final resting place. Directed by Michael Burke for Blakeway North.

You've been busy TT! Nice to have a proper thread now it's confirmed. :cheer:

Maybe we'll need to look out for clues in his interviews in future for his next tour outfit then.

Thanks munchkin.

We should all know by now that Will doesn't do anything without a great deal of thought. Just goes to show how much imput He has in the staging of his shows. I can even remember him discussing the set on the behind the scenes show on the Will and Gareth Tour.

At least those who griped so much about the tour outfits know who to blame.

Thanks TT, I've never really bothered much about Will's outfits and what he "decides he looks good in"

but this one must have been chosen in a powercut.
