Will's second single was also the song that saw him sailing through to the Pop Idol final 10. Many see this as the defining moment for Will. For me it wasn't solely the retort to Cowell but the performance. Plenty of good singers in the competition but this performance demonstrated Will's unique style and vocal. David Grant's 'phenomenal' comment during rehearsal really highlighted the stupidity of what Cowell said.

@will_young31 Hey, I just had the pleasure of hearing your "Light My Fire" --sounds good, man. Thanks for the compliment. Good luck to you!

Personally, I love the video and I've always loved the song, so there. :P

I love it too and it's always a real crowd pleaser on tour :cheer:

Agree a briliant video setting the stage for more unique videos to come. :D

Will received so much criticism for covering the Doors classic with so few realising it was the jose feliciano version he was singing. The track seems to be a personal favourite of Will's, performing it on most of his tours.

I heard the Doors version the other day on the radio for the first time in years. I liked the instrumental part much better than any of their vocal. But I always liked Jose Feliciano's much better than theirs, so when Will did that version I was delighted.

I think the audience love it at his live shows, it always seems to go down very well.

It just showed me how much these so called music "experts" actually know about music, when they couldn't differentiate between the two versions.

I think Jim Morrison's vocals are appalling on his version.

Really enjoyed revisiting the making of the video. Will's pinnacle of his career to that date.

He sounded even posher back then, fitting so well with the theme of the video. :)

I remember thinking how different the video was to anything else around and it suited him perfectly. :cheer:

Also on this release two covers performed by Will during Pop Idol final 10.

Much preferred the Live performance of Ain't No Sunshine. So much emotion from Will.

Beyond the Sea was chosen by Pete Waterman for Will to sing and also featured on The Big Band Album. Will's outstanding performance of this and Sweetest Feeling saw him sail into the final.
