I've just seen the prices for Jeff's ELO tour. I may HAVE to sell all my worldly possessions to go!!!!!
Kath - could be the last time you get the chance as he doesn't tour much - go for it. I may need to sell a kidney to see TT in Hyde Park :)

He doesn't tour at all really.

When you are a huge fan Kath, pull at all the stops that you can afford to get a ticket.

One ticket would be OK - but I'll feel obliged to get two! £240 (plus fees) is a lot of money! When I went to see them at Wembley in 1978 our tickets were £8 each!!!!! There was only one of us who had a parent with a cheque book so Mrs Molloy very kindly sent a letter off to the venue with the requisite cheque and voila ... tickets arrived not long after. Can you imagine that happening today? The venue selling the tickets???? How very DARE they?

Times have changed, those prices really are expensive. It is an awful amount to pay out. I think if i was a genuine fan i would try and go if i could finance it. Finance is the hard part as there are other expenses to be looked at too, such as food, travel etc.

That would be fantastic, Kath!

I got the pre sale code by signing up to their mailing list. Tickets are on general sale on Friday. Coincidently I'm Cork then, so I wouldn't have been able to get any if I hadn't got the pre sale

Cost me £75 each. £65 for the ticket and the rest was delivery and booking fee.

Expensive, but a certainty is you know it will be worth every single penny.

Does anyone know how easy it is to see the stage? I'm thinking of going for GA tickets but the park looks huge. Wondering if I'm stuck at the back will it mean I'm miles away? I'm also very short so if I'm stuck behind anyone over 5ft 3 I've no chance of seeing anything.

Some of the GA tickets look like they're positioned behind the screen. The GA prices are reasonable because I understand there are other performers and it opens early afternoon; however, some of the other tickets are exceedingly expensive.

We got GA tickets for one of The Circus concerts (at Lancashire Cricket Ground) and of the three times I saw them there - THEY were the best seats and view we had. Sure - we were a little way back - but a totally unrestricted view, nice seats with leg room, and besides - the screens mean you see everything anyway (lets face it - unless you are right up at the front - you're not going to see much anyway). The only thing with GA is that you have to get there really early because its first come first served for the seating - our coach got us there nice and early (so early in fact that we had time to go to Man United's football ground and have a relaxing coffee beforehand in one of their bars).

I'm still umming and arring about ELO! The ONLY tickets I want are £120 each! If I do try - I've decided to go alone.

Thanks, Kath. I will obviously have to get there early if I go for GA. Only thing is I don't think there's any seating at Hyde Park. I've always gone GA seat at the stadium gigs and you're right the seating and views are great.

As for ELO , it could be a once in a life time opportunity - so I say go for it!!!! Worry about the bank balance later.

I'm not too worried about the bank balance as I can afford the ticket (even two at a push) its just I keep thinking on the dark side ... what if the tickets don't arrive, what if they get pinched, I'll have to book all other sorts of things (accommodation, travel ... and what if Jeff Lynne drops dead in the meantime ... I mean he is pushing into his 70's!!!!!)

Dropping dead is one thing, getting sick and cancelling is another, its ok getting a ticket refund on the day but what about all the other expenses, bbuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttt we wont go there, nothing bad will happen Kath, go grab it and enjoy it. :cheer:

Yes, do it Kath! You'll have an absolute blast!

Dylandog, if you get there earlier then the better chance you have to get as close to the stage as possible. I'm not too fussed about near it, I'd rather a bit of space in the middle somewhere

I love the pre-feeling and excitement of going to a concert, especially when you are going to see an act you are a big fan of.

Hope you're watching on the red button, Kath. Sounding good and I love the fact he hasn't lost his accent in spite of his many years in LA. If he is in his 70's Jeff is ageing very, very well indeed, in fact he's hardly changed.

Strange to see Mike, Milton and the rest of the gang backing him. Some great tunes, but by god I suddenly feel very old. Where has the time gone ? :)
