Tbh, I didn't have the patience to listen to Mark's song in full, although I had liked the snippet.

I'm simply in love with WYBTHFM and, if we lived in a fair world, it would be a bigger hit than Adele's Hello, imo.

I know some of you might not agree, but, for me, WYBTFM is up there with RTW and Patience - lyrically, it's even better.

From the reviews of you guys on the forum i am really looking forward to hearing these tracks. The re-release is almost here so i have it all to look forward too.

WYBTFM is so, so lovely. Gary's voice sounds heavenly in some sections of it. I absolutely love it and it somewhat restores my faith in them, and confirms that they still have the ability to produce high quality work. The melody and lyrics are especially strong on WYBTFM.

What a shame the new releases probably won't receive a wider audience. A complete waste of two very good songs. They should have been on the main album with a ballad the follow up to These Days, or even the first release with These Days the second release. Mark's song reminds me a little of Flower Bed, although I prefer Jay's vocals to Mark's .

I don't believe any of us expect the re-release as a stand alone release to make double platinum. We are looking for the combined sales of this and the original to make a combined total of 600,000.

I didnt mean that anyway - I meant the combined sales won't even reach 600k.

I reallly cant call it, i live in hope the dvd will attract buyers. These Days was used as a background snippet on strictly, might help add a few more sales to These days

I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about sales anymore - how I wish TT could sell 300k in 1 day like Adele!! -, but, right now, I'm so happy they've finally produced a song that lives up to the TT standards that the sales and the charts come second place.

Going by the album's position on Amazon and iTunes, I think they'll be lucky if they make top 20.

Does any of you think there's a chance the boys would do a live set on Radio 2, so that we get to hear the new tracks live? I'd die if I heard an acoustic version of WYBTFM - a guitar and Gary's voice, that's all I ask.

If they miss the Top 20 then there's no denying it's a poor outcome. However, a lot of TT fans by the physical version from shops. I bought mine that way and never use Amazon or ITunes - so I hold out some hope that sales are better than we think.

Sales figures don't really make sense. On the basis that the tour was seen by around 500,000 people, granted some of whom would have gone multiple times , I would have thought that at least 100,000 would be interested in buying the DVD. However, that doesn't seem to be the case? Rather puzzling. Adele had terrific hype even before her album release and she's played a blinder in terms of promotion and marketing. I get the impression that Universal now have bigger fish to fry than TT and this is reflected in the marketing.

TT needed to come back with much stronger promo in view of the departure of Jay and the tax issue, and they didn't. They could have set up a one off TV show to promote the re - lease and they didn't. It looks like Hey Boy is the song of choice on SCD tonight - major fail. To some extent the band must take responsibility for this. Their musical output hasn't been up to their standard and this view is from a massive fan Again, they must take responsibility for their musical output - no one else.

I think WYBTFM is a wonderful song , I really do, but I don't envisage a Radio 2 gig or any other promo. They are going on a hiatus from December because Howard's baby is due at the beginning of Jan so I don't think we'll see much of them until the Hyde Park show. It's unlikely that we will hear this wonderful song live - it should be a single release but unless they're willing to promote extensively sales would be poor. And to be honest if they aren't willing to market it properly then I don't want to see such a fab song fail.

They could make WYBTFM non-eligible to chart and, that way, they'd protect it from criticism. Having it released as a single would mean exposure for the song: a video, airplay, maybe a few live performances. This is so tricky: on the one hand, I don't want to see it flop either, because it's a stunning, stunning song, on the other hand, I don't want to see it remain anonymous, known only by a hand of hardcore fans - that's as bad, if not worse, as it flopping.

We have to see things in perspective. Take That and Robbie are major live acts now. I don't think that they together or as single acts will compete ever again with the current hot artist. By now it is Adele, Ed Sheeran and 1d/Coldplay. But people come to see them live and they produce new music AND they don't do secure. How amazing is it that they do not take the secure way but try something which is not their usual style.

Adele is great and I like her as a person as far as I have seen/listened to interviews. But her album sounds like the old one and the first critics rise. It will be a huge success, however if the next one will not be different she will go the same way every huge artist goes, back to normal.

U2 did, Madonna did and different to TT and Robbie until now Adele has not proved to draw massive crowds. TT sold at least 500,000 tickets for the last tour, Robbie more than 1 million. After 20 years this is something all the others as good as they are still have to deliver.

I get what you're saying Milly. I think the problem is they chose the wrong single for the re-lease. It should never have been Hey Boy - sorry for going on about it so much. I can't understand why they thought that single would be the best one to re launch the album, it simply makes no sense to me. I can't actually listen to HB I have that much of an aversion to it that I'm not sure I'll be able to watch their SCD performance :(

WYBTFM actually touches me emotional in some parts, it's lyrically wonderful and Gary sounds superb. If anyone hasn't heard the song try and look up the lyrics they really are fab and the acoustic elements are so lovely. Carry Me Home is also good as is Bird in the Hand but they aren't single worthy in my view.

Without exaggerating, I think I've listened to WYBTFM at least 20 times per day since Friday, that's how much I love it. I only did that with Dying Inside and Without You (Harry Nilsson's version, not Mariah's). I like Carry Me Home too, but I only listened to it a couple of times - I agree, it's not single material.

I have the same aversion towards Hey Boy as you do, dylandog :) I think we're gonna get banned if we keep repeating it :)

Something must be in the air: first I agreed with Kath and now with elisabeth :)

Elisabeth, you're right in terms of music moving and I think that's how TT now view their career with an emphasis on live tours but I also think it's important for them to continue to sell well.

I am addicted to WYBTFM as well Milly. It's on repeat I simply adore it. It takes me back to the era of BW and I so love that album. Can you imagine how wonderful it would sound live with just dimmed lights and a simple acoustic sound. It's very radio friendly in my view. Reading twitter comments there seems to be a similar love for it.

Does anyone know the midweeks yet?

To be honest I preferred it when the charts were from Sunday to Sunday with mid week updates on a Wednesday. I've no idea if Sunday is now the mid week update.

I went shopping today to a well known supermarket. Adele had a separate stand with her album on show which was really in your face - very good promotion. In the music section TT were no 6 in the supermarket's chart but there were no DVD's to purchase as they hadn't restocked it. For anyone thinking of casually buying some music TT wouldn't have been on their radar.

I haven't seen any TV adverts either, but I may have missed them. I've watched the DVD - good but not as good as The Circus or BW. Unfortunately, I don't think the songs from lll, with the exception of These Days, hold up well on the DVD in comparison to their older songs.

I agree with all of the above. A lot of DVDs, mine included, have been skipping or get stuck around 10-15 mins in. Sort of sums up this era unfortunately.

Saying that, positives are a number 1 album and single. Could be much worse.

I must be one of the lucky ones as my DVD is fine but I know there have been problems across the board. Shame there wasn't a behind the scenes section like the one they had for BW. It would have been nice to get some insight into the making of the tour and the reasons why they chose some songs over others.

I haven't read any updates for sales figures but I understand that Adele's sales are massive, so I'm taking a guess that she'll out sell Progress but I don't know how close she'll come to overtaking Oasis. I must be one of the few not overly impressed with Hello and her follow up. My initial positive impressions haven't stayed with me. I don't think the second single is actually anything special and I don't think her voice is that great on the higher registers, but obviously she's played a blinder in terms of marketing. US sales are huge by all accounts.

As far as I know, Adele sold 300.000 copies on Friday, which means she'll easily outsell Progress. But, then again, with the hype that surrounds her, I wouldn't be surprised.

Although I'm not a fan, I kinda feel sorry for her, because the hype that ensures her success now will eventually lead to her downfall. Nobody can live up to such high expectations forever.

Hello is a good - not great, but good - STUDIO song. Adele's 1st live performance of the song outlined her voice's weakness when it comes to the upper register - she was literally shouting to reach those notes. I'm one of the few that find When We Were Young beyond boring. I did like A Million Years Ago; I felt it was quite personal and heartfelt, good melody, good lyrics, I prefer it to Hello.

I don't know how objective I am, but, for me, III has better songs than the few I've heard from 25. Unfortunately, in this industry, sometimes the name/brand sells more than the quality.

My DVD will probably arrive just in time for Christmas, although it was dispatched on Wednesday. I keep my fingers crossed it's not faulty, cause returning it would be a full headache.

I was surprised by Adele's vocals on her first live performance on a French show. She wasn't great if truth be told and as you've pointed out the sound she makes at the higher register isn't that pleasant. However, her lower register is lovely and she really emotes.

Adele may be one of the few who bucks the trend. She waited four years to release and the momentum from 21 stayed with her. TT haven't stayed in tune with the music public. Their music of the BW era would have sold really well into today's music market. If you think of Adele, Sam and Ed they are all middle of the road with an emphasis on vocals. Even ID have produced some ballads not unlike some of TT's output in the past year.

God, I hate that song, but that was a brilliant performance on Strictly. Glad to see they went for the funny, energetic approach.

I dont know how i got mixed up but i was sure the album wasn't out until next Friday :( Must try and get my hands on a copy tomorrow. It will be a tough battle for them if they are to go top 10, i would think Adele (obvious number 1), Enya, Olly Murs will manage top 10 too, from last weeks chart the only ones i can see departing the top 10 are Ben Haenow, Andre Rieu, Rod Stewart and possibly Jeff Lynne. Based on that, Take That should manage top 10 but where i cant call.
