Oh Milly, I didn't like it. Watched it all and I thought they were miming. So many dancers it was actually quite difficult to see them. It was showy, brash and camp so in a way it was representative of SCD. That said, there's something quite adorable about the love they have for performing :)

Oh, it was camp alright :) But I'd rather it was silly than serious. Can you imagine a serious performance with such lyrics? :)

I see quite a few persons accusing them of lip synching, but I couldn't tell. As you pointed out, they were shot from the distance and always mingled with the dancers and it was hard to tell. What made me think it was live was the 2nd verse - usually, you'd only hear Gary's voice, but, this time, Mark was doing some harmonies and something didn't sound quite right. And I think Gary even got some lyrics wrong, but I can't be sure.

Even if they had been miming, at this point, I find it ridiculous for some people to throw it in their faces. TT have proven time and time again they are a great live act and such isolate episodes have no reflection on their singing capabilities.

The boys certainly don't mind sending themselves up. Sometimes I look at the clothes Gary's made to wear and the dance routines, then I look at the serious Broadway composer/ song writer and the two seem miles apart. I have a feeling the Hyde Park gig is going to be an extravaganza!!!!

Heart radio are hinting at a secret gig from a big artist - over 7 million concert tickets sold etc. I wonder if it could be them? I know they did a show for Heart some time ago. These kind of gigs make little difference sales wise. At this point only big TV exposure will improve sales. However, for those fans lucky enough to get tickets it's a real treat.

I think the boys knew they'd get a lot of heat from those who don't follow them constantly, when they decided to go for the 70s outfits and for that dance routine. We should be glad they stood away from jello this time :P

I'd love it if those rumours were true, dylandog. I don't want them to go away on a long hiatus again until the next album.

I've watched their performance a few times and I still can't make up my mind. When I look at Gary, I can swear it's live, when I look at Mark, I can swear they're miming. When I hear Mark's voice on the 2nd verse, again I could swear it's live. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD7nBnwtwzk

There was a snippet posted yesterday by someone who was in the audience - in that video, you could clearly hear it was live, I almost couldn't hear the music. I doubt they'd have rehearsed it live and done sound checks if they intended to mime.

The performance seems to have had an effect on iTunes: the album jumped from 76 to 45 in the past hour, let's hope it keeps climbing.

Another hint from Heart - artist has won 6 Ivor Novello awards. This does sound like it could be TT or Gary on his own.

Hard core fans loving the Strictly performance but some very harsh, nasty comments on line from non fans/general viewers. I thought this could happen. Can you imagine how lovely WYBTFM would have been with the ballroom back drop and lights. They came back as a mature pop act, I really don't want to see their reputation ruined. Any more performances of this kind/music of this genre and they will undo all their hard work. They can get away with it as part of an overall live concert but it doesn't work as a stand alone piece. The general public don't get the ' tongue in cheek element' and thus it comes across as more than a little cringe worthy

8 Brit Awards, 6 Ivors, 45 million copies sold - it's definitely TT :)

If we want to laugh instead of crying, the tax scandal took care of their reputation. A fur coat won't do much more damage :P

I'd have loved a performance of WYBTFM - I can even picture the dancing on that song, it would have been mesmerizing.

But, what's done is done and, at least, we know that Hey Boy is not their new direction, but just one isolate episode.

To be fair, the general public has better things to do than post on twitter stupid comments. Those posts belong to the haters and they would have posted them no matter what.

Hey Boy is now 41 on iTunes, which means some of the audience must have got the humour and enjoyed the performance as such.

I love your optimism :) Thinking back to their Abbey Road session. How lovely would it be to hear some of the lll album stripped back. Songs like Freeze would sound really good.

I'm guessing it there is a concert it will be before the end of the year due to Howard's personal situation. I think Gary will focus on The Girls musical and FN between Jan and May as I've heard that FN may be coming to the West End next summer and if the shows in Leeds and Manchester go well I would imagine they'll look to roll out The Girl's show either to the WE or across the country.

I just watched it now and i did think they were miming. If they did, they did, we know they have nothing to prove when it comes to performing live, they are mega brill live. If i wasn't a fan of Take That i would have probably skipped from about half way through. Its far from there best song but at the same time its different, so they cant be accused of releasing the same ole same ole. The performance itself was very busy.

Good to see its doing something on itines, maybe the performance might be enough to see it re-enter top 100 this week.

You're right it was too busy, which was actually one of the key weaknesses of the Progress tour. I wonder who was responsible for the routine? The 70's look and homage to that era seems to have gone over the head of a lot of people. Most are commenting on the fact that three 40 somethings are dressed in naff clothes!!! I guess not the impact the lads were hoping for:)

I'm very pleased it's pushed them back into the top 40.

I too thought Gary and Howard were miming, but I'm sure there was a technically reason behind it. Maybe the movement into the ballroom from outside. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. It certainly won't win an Ivor Novello but as said above, it's something different

My DVD sticks too, how irritating, according to Twitter it was a fault of the master copy, which got burned onto thousands of DVDs...irritating!
Adele beat Progress's opening week sales (she sold 537,000 copies from Friday-Sunday). Congrats to her.

Congrats indeed. Those are incredible figures in today's music market. She's obviously tapped into a sound that people love and her personality seems to appeal to many. She is an excellent singer in a music industry which is devoid of classic singers, but I nevertheless think that the quality of her music is over rated.

It looks like she'll hold onto the number one position in the album charts well into January, if not beyond. I guess we know who's walking away with a handful of Brits next year! I would imagine that in the UK she is destined to sell in the region of two and a half to three million if sales hold up.

I can't see TT sales holding up until Friday - but figures crossed I'm wrong. A heavy promo campaign this week would have been very beneficial.

Well they are performing next month - great for those who can get to London on a work day.

They are 6 in the mid week chart - hopefully they will hold on to that position, or somewhere near it. However, sales are very low at this point. I think ID are at 5 with sales of around 19,000 so it is disappointing when you think back to their DVD sales for The Circus.

6 in the midweeks is encouraging, but the sales are atrocious. They should promote as much as possible to capitalize on the Christmas sales.

I sort of think the tour would have done better as a DVD only release, with a bonus documentary and music videos perhaps. But I can see why they've packaged it with III, to try and get the album past the half million mark at least.

But they really need to recall existing stock of the album/DVD package and send out new copies to stores. I expect word will start to spread about the faulty discs and people will hesitate to buy it. I feel sorry for those people buying this release as a Xmas present for somebody, it will rather ruin the moment when families sit down to watch the tour at Xmas and the DVD starts skipping.

6 in the midweeks is encouraging, but the sales are atrocious. They should promote as much as possible to capitalize on the Christmas sales.

They only sold 1227 yesterday, most of the top 16 outsold them, so unless they have had a massive sales increase today from Strictly, they'll most likely miss the top 10.

Maybe I overestimated this. I thought it would definitely sell 100k+

Nevertheless, they'll pass 500k this week.

Hopefully in the next 4 weeks it'll continue to collect sales.
