Thanks everyone! It was amazing! Incidentally, I haven't stopped hearing These Days and Higher than Higher in Australia and New Zealand. Not sure if they've charted out there, but from a radio perspective they seem to be making a mark!

Really glad to hear Higher than Higher is being played somewhere on this planet :)
Yes, it is good to hear that, do we know have they achieved any success in Australia/New Zealand.

#93 on the sales chart.

Too bad III didn't spend one more week in the official charts :(

I have not seen the full chart yet, i too had hoped it would stay top 100 this week. At least Three managed to stay in the chart for 3 different years, it has chart weeks in 2014, 2015 and 2016 which indicates it wasn't just a die hard purchase by fans.

It's such a shame the re-lease hasn't done well. Minor sales are of course better than none, but disappointing nonetheless. Does anyone know how the DVD is doing as a stand along purchase?
I think the package cd+dvd is doing better than the dvd alone. This week, the dvd didn't chart in top 100.

The 'skipping' issue and the press pick up it got would have probably changed many people's minds.
Your right, in that the press picked up with the production issue and it caused a lot of negative publicity. Although it wasn't the bands fault, I do think it would have been a nice gesture it they'd acknowledged the issue in some way.

Didn't they acknowledge it though? They sent replacement dvd-s to everyone.

I didn't even bother to open the first dvd I got. The replacement dvd worked without any problems and the good thing is that I got it a couple of days after I received the deluxe package.

But I guess the press didn't bother to write a proper article about this like they did when they learnt that there was a problem with the initial dvd-s.

No, I don't think they did, Milly, unless I missed it. I'm referring to the lads, as opposed to the record company. I don't think Mark, Gary or Howard made any comment on the problem with the production of the DVD and it would have been a nice gesture if they had, although I accept they weren't responsible in any way.

The press did appear to make rather a lot of the whole incident which I find rather strange. There was also negative press around ticket prices for Hyde Park. Granted some of the options such as the diamond ticket are extortionate, but the GA tickets are good value and I very much doubt TT have any major involvement in ticket pricing. On a positive note in the past month or so TT have been voted as the best live show for two arenas; one in the Netherlands and the Getting Arena in Birmingham, so not all bad!!

Yes, maybe if the boys addressed it people would have been more confident in purchasing it. Its strange the single dvd release hasnt done great, i dont know where it charted as they usually do very well in the dvd chart. But like many things in this era it just hasnt gone to plan at all, successful in some ways but disappointing in others. I think our problem is we got so used to huge success that what would normally be seen as successful we now see as disappointing if that makes sense.

To be honest, if the next album has the same sales as III, I'll be happy, as they are really good numbers in the current climate (disappointing for TT, but desired and envied by most artists). I'm a bit worried that the sales will drop even more for the next projects.

Does anyone have any idea why Gary would have been visiting the Radio 1 studios last week?

I too would worry the sales decline will continue and the next album will sell considerably less. The first week opening sales will be a huge indicator.

Its all about a strong single and media pick up.

Historically, they've chosen great lead singles to launch an era of new music, so hopefully that'll continue.

I think if they remain as a 3, the media won't be as interested, so I would expect a 4 or a 5 piece album next time. Would Jason return if Robbie signed up? Or would Robbie only sign up if Jason was on board?

Indeed, historically, and factually they have had excellent lead singles since they reformed, the only lead single i would 100% question was Sure from Nobody Else album. I realise it did make number 1 but it was a strange introduction to the album, especially when the classics Back For Good and Never Forget were waiting in the wings.

I never personally liked Greatest Day much, even though it can't be denied that it was a strong lead single that did the job, and still gets played now.

Sure is just bad, strange choice of lead single. Though the album version of Never Forget wasn't that great.

I often forget that the album version of Never Forget is extremely weak in comparison to the showstopping single version which is just a wonderful song that i adore.

I'm not a great fan of Greatest Day myself. I admit it's quite an anthem and a feel good song and it works really well in live shows, I just can't seem to be able to listen to it casually, like most of their other songs.

May I ask if anyone else took part in Gary's bday surprise? A fan gathered everyone's bday wishes to Gary on a tumblr page and sent the link to Gary. http://happybirthdaygary.tumblr.com/

I think I'm just curious to learn more about everyone on this forum :)

My message is signed Mirela (and, compared to everyone else's wishes, it was the most stupid :D )

Milly - it was lovely and it's great to see what you look like - hope I looked at the right one! :) It was a fab idea and what wonderful messages and videos. Gary is lucky to have so many dedicated fans

The Girls musical has received fantastic press reviews so another nice birthday present for him.
