That sort of tour would be a dream come true for me

But nobody is asking them to go to those lengths - I understand that there are people who go to their concerts and want to hear the hits - so, they could do some/most of them and still include 5-6 new songs and change them up with every new tour. We could have had a live performance of a lot of tracks had they included at least 2 of them in each tour set.

It would be interesting (although we will never know) when Take That tour, what percentage of the ticket purchasers are of those who always go to a Take That concert and those who are going to see them for the first time. Regular attendees to a Take That concert would welcome new songs getting performed and appreciate them where the casual attendee would be going for the hits. I myself would like a mixture, i have no issue with the hits been played as i always enjoy them but i would also welcome them performing songs that their fans will know but they usually dont perform at a concert.

I would presume the next album will not be toured  . If the plan is to celebrate the 25th anniversary next year with a tour and Greatest Hits release they will likely tour the Greatest Hits to celebrate the anniversary. Should this happen they should do a one off concert to promote, tour etc the new album. What comes to mind here again (im also a fan) Kylie did this with her Body Language Album. She done a concert where you could win tickets only to go to the show and ITV televised it. For Take That, the concept could be tweaked in some ways but could be ideal to promote the album if they wont be touring it.

Running competitions in national papers and radio stations to get tickets would be wonderful exposure for their new album and potentially make people more aware of the new album.

Gary said there would be a tour before summer and then the GH album at the end of the year. I see no reason why they couldn't pull it off. I imagine they would do a GH tour in 2018.

I didnt know that, that said, it makes sense that the Greatest Hits Tour would be 2018 now that i think about it.

Judging by Robbie's new single, he could well need TT to boost his career again...

I think the plan is for TT 3 to tour their new album next year and a GH tour with Rob in 2018 - at least that's my understanding of it. In term of demographics I'd guess 80% are firm TT fans with 20% casual fans including men dragged along by their other halves :) Of all the concerts I've attended TT seem to have the most diverse crowd in terms of age range. I'm often surprised how many young people attend and equally surprised how many are at the other end of the spectrum.

In terms of the set list it would be relatively easy for them to perform new songs without compromising the balance of their concerts too much. I mentioned Hyde Park on an earlier post. Including CMH and WYBTFM would have been incredibly easy to do and they wouldn't have needed to leave out any of the regular set list.

Jay I didn't think Rob's single was out for some time. Is it not performing well? I think he has a slot on the GN show soon which may boost sales.

he is no 1 in many pre order charts with the album across Europe at least top 5, that is more than TT without Robbie ever had achieved.

Lets not do the Robbie vs Take That debate as its stale and boring. We all know Robbie is far more successful in Europe. Both acts keep their fans happy, some people are lucky and are fans of both acts and for others they prefer one to the other.

Robbie is part of the Take That story so lets embrace it.

Elizabeth, wrong forum. TT made Robbie and gave him a second chance to rebuild himself. He loves the band, so I'd suggest you take yourself over to the Robbie forum if you have nothing productive to add to our discussions.

Dylan, it leaked earlier. Have a listen and see what you think: https://dnj.to/2016/09/29/robbie-williams-p...like-a-russian/

Jay, I've just posted on the other link :) Good for Rob - I don't get his popularity but fair play, he's maintained his popularity around much of the world for over 20 years.

I dont like the sound of the new material so far by Robbie. Im very hit and miss with Robbie's material, he has a few songs i like such as Sin Sin Sin (not many pick that one!!)Candy, let me entertain you, kids, old before i die and come undone as the songs i mainly like from him. There is also a few songs i think are just awful such as rudebox, south of the border, millenium and misunderstood.

He has built up a huge career and as i often said i dont think i can look past how horrid he was to Gary in Garys wilderness years, robbie's actions that time showed what a horrible streak he has in him and i honestly dont know how Gary forgave him. That really put me off him. I am happy he went full circle and made a return to Take That as im sure its something that meant alot to them all. I do wonder if Take Thats comeback had flopped would Robbie have done anything to try and boost their career, my gut feeling is no.

Leaving all this to one side, for a man in the business so long he still has a solid career as do the Take That boys and thats some achievement and none of them have anything to prove to anyone. One thing Take That and Robbie have in common for sure is the ability to surprise, each time they release a new album you just dont know what to expect, they certainly are not afraid to experiment with the sound of their music.

Three has re-entered the Irish chart at number 30 on the album chart this week. I have seen a few posts in relation to the Irish charts but after doing some research i think i know the reason for the re-entry, its not the only surprise as there is loads of high climbers and re-entries .

Many of the hmv/xtra vision shops are closing at the moment in Ireland and cd's are selling extremely cheap to clear the stock.

Shawn Mendes was the number 1 album in Ireland last week and i see it has dropped to number 63, must be one of the biggest falls from number 1 in any chart around the world.

Good to see III adding to its sales in ROI!
Great to see it back in the charts but sales in Ireland are very llow, sales info is hard to get here but if a UK number 1 album on some weeks is 12000 I would think Ireland would 2,000 maximum.

Even if it's a few hundred sales, it's still good - it's a few hundred people more who get to know their new songs. We're so used at looking at numbers and seeing sales in them, that we forget that each sale is actually a person.

Seeing that TT's album has re-charted, do you know if the same thing happened to Gary's album?

Garys album isnt back on the Irish chart (this week anyhow) but it did do well here in Ireland and probably did the same as it did in the UK (population differences of course make the sales dif)
Whatever the reason for the album returning to the charts in Ireland last week it would be wonderful if it stays on their charts again this week.
This post would be better in the general news thread, i will copy your post into that thread now.
