Posted September 1, 200618 yr TOTP magazine launches digital edition Source Music week The BBC is to launch a digital edition of its Top Of The Pops magazine, offering a “more interactive reading experienceâ€. The digital edition, produced in conjunction with Zinio Systems, will launch on September 6. The BBC says that the move marks “another significant step in the title’s digital strategy designed to capture teen interest in new media technologyâ€. “The digital edition will offer an enhanced and more interactive reading experience in tandem with the newsstand version offering extras such as Rich Media exclusives of the Pussycat Dolls and Neyo music videos,†it adds in a statement. Following the first complimentary edition, readers will be able to sign up for an annual subscription for £9.99. Subscribers to the digital edition will receive the online edition of the magazine five days before it arrives in the shops. BBC Magazines Teen Group associate publisher Duncan Gray says, “We're really excited to be the first teen title to enter this side of the digital marketplace. We see this digital edition as a complimentary purchase that offers up a whole new way for readers to enjoy TOTP magazine by incorporating a range of interactive features. "Our readers love the celebrity interviews, fashion, gossip, cringes and real life stories and the digital edition enables us to deliver this directly to their inbox and bring elements of them to life with enhanced interactive content such as embedded music videos and film and TV trailers." In the latest ABC figures, Top Of the Pops magazine registered 116,858 readers – 16.6% down on last year, but 21.0% up on six months ago.
