James Blunt scooped two awards at the MTV Video Awards in New York last night.

 

The singer fended off competition from Busta Rhymes, Nick Lachey, Kanye West and TI to win Best Male Video for You’re Beautiful, which also won Best Cinematography.

 

Panic! At the Disco won Video Of The Year for I Write Sins Not Tragedies, beating Skakira, Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Christina Aguilera.

 

Shakira and the Red Hot Chili Pepper, who led nominations with seven apiece, each only collected one award, for Best Choreography and Best Art Direction respectively.

 

Madonna, who was nominated in five categories, won nothing.
