I think the promo and tour buzz might help it go top 15 actually. So embarrassing and sad that it's not entered any kind of radio airplay chart though.
I don't think it's going to miss the top 20 - EP, Physicals and promotion should be enough to ensure that it's top 20. It's frustrating to see the girls not visiting radio stations though - promotion anywhere and everywhere should be important for them. If 'Not Giving Up' goes top 10 the better chance that Radio 1 and Capital will support their next single.

If it can go top ten on iTunes on Sunday, there's a big chance Capital might start playing it, too.

I don't think it will trouble the top 15 on iTunes tbh - this is their lowest airplay charting since they debuted. 'My Heart Takes Over peaked at #45 on the radio airplay (lowest) and 'Up' peaked at 19 on Television Airplay.

I wonder if its troubled the top 100 on radio airplay though?

I don't think it has tbh.

It's not near the top 40 on The Hits, Free Radio, Capital etc. I'm really worrying about this - a lowing chart position could kill the next campaign before it even started.

I guess if you don't usually pray, you betta now!

But in all seriousness, hopefully it's sold enough on pre-orders to debut at a decent position. Didn't Disco Love debut around #21?

Is it possible that the TV promotion they are doing from Saturday might push them top 10, and then Capital (and maybe at a push R1) will play it more, and it might do a Higher/Ego - to a much lesser degree - and stick around top 10 for a few weeks? Or am I being naive and optimistic?

Higher and Ego had great airplay starting from way before the release - If they'd done an 'album only' as this has - they might have even gotten number 1s. Capital MIGHT play Not Giving Up, if it exceeds expectations in any way.(I don't know why it was play-listed to be honest) but Radio 1 are much more stubborn, and you pretty much have to have a top 2 hit for them to admit defeat and start playing you.

The promo that hasn't got performances needs to showcase the song/video in some way, otherwise it really will be a major flop.

Yeah, I always said Higher and Ego as first singles would have been number 1s

Argh! It all comes back to bloody radio air play. I just don't get why Radio 1 would put Gentleman on the B playlist (I know they had just gone number 1 with WAU but still) and ignore this entirely, yet still play disco love. I just don't get it!

As it's been theorised about, Radio One have snubbed/started snubbing alot of artists.

I'm starting to think they would have been better off just not releasing this. Not too late to cancel the release...

Ha, yes it is. They've signed and dispatched all the CD singles!

I don't think it's going to do as bad everyone thinks.

The only reason it'll be depressing when it flops is because it's such a superior song to many of their singles and deserves to be big. Other than that, it's the 5th single off an album that's already spawned a #1 single.
I someitmes get mine on the Friday or Saturday - I think with AFU I got them on the Monday - but it was meant to be 2 CDs and Vinyl, but I only ever got the maxi CD not the normal CD :( Never found one for sale anywhere either

'Not Giving Up' was played on RiseUponJoy
