Now Leicester's rock 'n roll liggers are back with their sophomore album 'Empire', produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Editors, Ladytron), which finds the band slightly departing the drug-induced Britrock sound of their debut in favour of classic, glam rock-inspired stompers, whilst still retaining all the rough vocal style that has become synonymous with these infamous party-hards. The new album includes the commanding title track and first single, 'Empire', as well as the Glitter band-beat of 'Shoot The Runner' and the Zeppelin-sized death march of 'The Doberman'. - HMV

This albums a lot better than their first attempt IMO. ^_^ Its a lot more concistant throughout the album. Shoot The Runner is easily the best track on it. ^_^

after a few listens i think it's very good.

 

it's got a bit of "the chemical brothers" vibe in a few tunes.

I thought it was. ^_^ A lot better than Empire IMO and could be another top 10 single for them. ^_^

Oh I like this album. Listened to it a few times and I really am struggling to find which is better between this and their old one.

Album is very good indeed. Shoot The Runner is definatly the right choice for 2nd single :D

I prefer Empire loads to their first album. ^_^ The only tracks I liked on their first album were all the singles and the Reason Is Treason.

 

I know its really early to say this but I hope Sun,Rise,Light,Flies is the 3rd single. ^_^

I love 'Empire' and 'Shoot The Runner' is simply amazing, I love the electro feel to it.

 

I went off the first album and it's gathering dust somewhere. But on the strength of those two songs, I'm tempted to get this.

i love this style of music but i have never really really got into kasabian for some reason

why is it not out as a dueldisc when they had the very first one (in the ye olde days when it was just known as a cd-on-one-side-dvd-on-t'other jobey) to come out. has dueldiscs not been that successful in the UK?

I'm tempted to indulge mind. I do own their first album and it was entertaining, I like it when they do the whole anthemic/electro type music, is there plenty on Empire.

This is one of my favourite albums of this year so far. :D

 

I think it's brilliant because it differs to a lot of other indie albums out there in recent years and it also has some great tracks, my favourite being STR.

Solid band but we need more hard rock like the metallica days
