June 12, 201411 yr The Japanese flag is mostly filled with a red circle, and quite frankly this is a classic to one of my favourite movies! XhDdw8rATic
June 13, 201411 yr Circle Of Life was co-written by Tim Rice, who was the co founder of the Book Of British Hit Singles, so that just leaves about 30,000 odd hits to choose from  So Lets have this one of my fave songs from one of my fave bands Gu2pVPWGYMQ Edited June 13, 201411 yr by fiesta
June 13, 201411 yr Author Ooh that's a song I would pick too B-) Have I ever seen the rain? Yes, indeed, when I lived in Singapore we had torrential monsoons pouring torrents down monsoon drains, and I got to listen to the fab Indian and Chinese music sounds that were around part of my boyhood on TV, radio and out and about the shops. Appropriately enough here's Monsoon and the fab Sheila Chandra and the Beatles-tastic sitar-drenched Ever So Lonely... xo_ZQzkPa9o
June 13, 201411 yr Monsoon... I used to get so many lovely shirt and jumper cominations from there before they ceased their menswear line. :( yeWdMqkvuEM
June 13, 201411 yr Menswear (but not Menswe@r) could be made if Denim but we've had them already so here's something made of denim, Jeans On by David Dundas. vwGlhKcEBjY
June 13, 201411 yr Well talking of jeans, that brings me to an absolutely stunning Lana song... JRWox-i6aAk
June 14, 201411 yr Lana Del Rey's breakthrough hit was with the sublime Video Games. A certain Buggles song would be an obvious link so I will go with something different in the form of Computer Games by the Yellow Magic Orchestra because I can :D . GuVFUqZQJm8
June 14, 201411 yr Author ...and I'm going to to go with the Love Unlimited Orchestra, who were a bit magic too on Love's Theme.. DqjuPxOXPag
June 14, 201411 yr We've already had Love so let's go from Love's Theme to Planet Love by 1990s Sheffield band The Dylans RnGhc7fgyrQ
June 14, 201411 yr Author Planets? Well, Holst wrote a whole Suite about them. This is the best version, though, of Jupiter.. Manfred Mann's Earthband, and Joybringer rtoPr76fCac&feature=kp Edited June 14, 201411 yr by popchartfreak
June 14, 201411 yr Way back in the last century I wrote a piece for my school's magazine about crossovers between classical and popular music. Joybringer got a mention as did a song based on Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto, All By Myself by Eric Carmen. f_ScL8BvkzE
June 15, 201411 yr Eric Carmen wrote Hungry Eyes for the Dity Dancing soundtrack, also on the soundtrack was Stay, much prefer the Hollies version but as theyve already gone, this'll do instead o1Z_hskvz1M
June 16, 201411 yr Kudos on bringing the Dylans into this thread!! Ok...moving on from 'Stay' - Paul Young had a hit with 'Come Back and Stay' in 1983. Paul was originally singer in Streetband who did little apart from the novelty 1978 hit 'Toast'. 'Toasting' is a type of vocal linked to reggae which was very popular for a short while on the dance scene in the early 90s and here's my favourite ever Norman Cook record - 'Echo Chamber' by Beats International which took a Bob Marley bassline and combined it with top toaster Daddy Freddy. Rz5M2UxQIJU
June 16, 201411 yr Author Beats International...International Rescue, Fuzzbox had that hit, here they are in an earlier incarnation Rockin' With Rita (the Vindaloo Summer Special) Tedd Chippington, The Nightingales, We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It Play loud for the guitars and have fun.... n-ZLGY5MrtE&feature=kp Edited June 16, 201411 yr by popchartfreak
June 16, 201411 yr Rocking with Rita? I suppose Darts can be said to have done that with Rita Ray among their number so here they are with Boy From New York City. WtYSZNfL_UY
June 17, 201411 yr Author Jocky Wilson was a famous darts player, immortalised by Dexy's on Jocky Wilson says. Here he is in his earlier soul singer days... Higher and Higher, Jackie Wilson AIy6X4VTWpk
June 18, 201411 yr Rita Coolidge covered higher and higher, and she reached an all time high CQ2rD2ZTCB0
June 18, 201411 yr From All Time High to All Time Low which was a hit for The Wanted. Moving swiftly on we go from The Wanted to people on a wanted list, Bonnie and Clyde. Here's the ballad of the aforementioned by Georgie Fame. enBCvL1zl6s
June 19, 201411 yr Bonnie Parker was portrayed on screen by Faye Dunaway. Another famous "Fay" is Rezillos vocalist Fay Fife (whose name is a dialectic pun on being from Dunfermline) so here she is with the band on the record that made a little known Thursday night pop programme famous. DM3f-pRidnU
June 19, 201411 yr Author Of all the stars never to appear on Top Of The Pops in person (and hardly ever on video either), the biggest was Elvis. It's about time he featured! Jailhouse Rock... qka6JrKUM5U
