ITV are currently showing a drama series about Cilla Black. The title role is played buy the brilliant Sheridan Smith. She starred (less brilliantly) in Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps which got its name from a totally ridiculous song by Splodgenessabounds

 

Their other hit was Simon Templar, he of The Saint fame. Saint Engelbert was a 13th century German saint. Good enough reason for me to post my fave bit of Humperdinck MOR tunesome schmaltz.

I was waiting until today to do a link from Englebert but I can still use the same song with a different link. The Sugarcubes first top 75 hit was Birthday. Today is my birthday so here is the song which was number one on the day I was born.
