BBC4 is AMAZING. I frequently spend 2/3 hours a night just watching random documentaries and stuff I would otherwise probably never see or hear of.

There is indeed a lot of rubbish on BBC3. However, Being Human and In The Flesh are two of the best programmes of recount years.

being human was indeed a very good show

i liked it

i think you have to consider demographics and more particularly age demographics. bbc three is obviously for young people and therefore switching to online is quite straightforward as most of us now use our computers to watch television and that's a trend that is only continue to increase whereas bbc four is mostly watched by an older demographic who aren't so computer savvy.

on top of that you look at the perceived 'quality' of bbc three; sadly for every good bit of programming it has shown it has become sadly tarnished by the legacy of 'snog, marry, avoid'. there is still a commonly held notion in society (and tbh one i quite agree with) that the bbc should be offering quality, value-for-money television that educates, entertains and is insightful: it's the central bastion of the remit to the public's eyes and bbc four is the poster child for that very idea. it'd be a dreadful reflection upon the bbc's reputation to get keep bbc three at bbc four's expense.

and besides we are all getting older and i day will come when you'll stop watching bbc three and probably be more interested by bbc four's programming.

I agree with Jake that the quality of BBC Three really does get tarnished by Snog/Marry/Avoid, that marriage show and repeating Family Guy in its death rattle years, to a degree where I couldn't even really name you anything else it shows. Moving it online makes a lot of sense.

I don't understand why Snog, Marry, Avoid gets such a bad rep but Don't Tell The Bride is considered so good.

Hotter Than my Daughter was awful though.

ITV2 are confirmed to have the rights to 'Family Guy' and 'American Dad' as well as 'The Cleveland Show' and new series 'Bordertown'.

It's confirmed they have the rights to show new episodes of 'Family Guy' beginning with the upcoming new series in AUTUMN. It's unknown whether the BBC will still have the rights to show repeats as they previously stated that they had the rights up until 2017.

But BBC Three will be gone in September and I can't see where they would be able to air Family Guy other than 1-2am on BBC Two - but would that really be worth it? They might as well just give up the rights completely.

i wonder when ITV2 will even show it. like at what time

their late night skedule is usually pretty full

but perhaps in sted of the films they have fridays at 9, back to back family guy episodes

i'll miss those marathons bbc 3 are famous for. especially on saturday

I hope it will enable them to stop showing the same films over and over. Instead, they will be able to show the same Family Guy episodes over and over :)

BBC Two are going to air the latest series of Family Guy (ie the one from Sep 2014) with 'The Simpsons Guy' (the Simpsons cross-over).

They often put documentaries on BBC3 like Rabbit Footsies said too.

And they TRY new programmes, like I Surveeved a Zombie Apocalypse that they wouldn't show on BBC2 for example. Family Guy and American Dad are huuge cornerstones for young people watching tv with the family though and they're shown on a channel marketed to them. Put it on BBc2, which is completely designed for older people, and you're still alienating young people.

Lol no. #FamilyGuyisforpersonaluseofALLages!!
