Grimly, can I just say what excellent posting you have recently, not because I agree with you on so many issues, but you seem so well informed with the knowledge at your finger tips.

Devils island, seems another topic I've missed. How do you get your information to keep yourself so well informed?

"Devil's Island" was a French Penal Colony in the 19th Century (a bit like UK's Botany Bay in Australia) where they sent their "undesirables" (ie, "Traitors" and Political Prisoners mostly, which is where the parallels to Guantanamo come in). Things came to a head here when they imprisoned French/Jewish Army Officer Dreyfuss on trumped up charges of 'treason'... There's a really good film made about Devil's Island called "Papillion" with Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen...

I think it's a good idea to death penalty to terrorists but we should also stop all of our wars
