September 3, 200618 yr If Jamelia is not an R&B/Soul act then how come she has been nominated for a MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) award for her upcoming single "Something About You"? She isnt nominated for SAY, the nominations were actually revealed before SAB was released to radio and video stations. Jameila was nominated for best female on the basis of her success with the 'Thank You' album.

September 7, 200618 yr Author Why? :blink: That's one of the quietest times of year in terms of simgles sales and is like 4 months after the first single gets released, that's WAY to long.

I do agree with what your saying though about the sales. If its a good song then people will still buy it, the song doesn't need to have a Christmas theme to do well in Dec. People will buy it for the quality and as gifts for others etc. It will really help the album out too, a good song at Christmas from a decent album always does boosts the album slaes like no other time in the year.
September 7, 200618 yr Riki Kiki B) Christmas time can lead to unpredicted flops singles wise with sales being so generally high but last year was a corker for albums 80,000 for GA to make #11 wasn't it? It's definately worth releasing nearer the end of the year than waiting for the slow down in Jan - sales are what matter not the positions anymore.
