I just watched this film at the cinema today. I have to say that it was quite funny. Wes Anderson has always interesting directory and his movies have always novelties characters. Ralph Fiennes was awesome as M. Gustave and Tony Revolory was very funny as Zero. The script is original and inspired by the writings of Stefan Zweig. The film also won the Jury Grand Prix Silver Bear award!!! Many famous actors and actresses play in this film such as Willem Dafoe, Jude Law, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman and many others..

Surely, it isn't my favourite Anderson's movie because i found amazing "The Moonrise Kingdom" which it's his best film. But i believe that "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is his second best film. I have also watched the overrated "The Royal Tenenbaums", the boring "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" and the deadly boring "The Darjeeling Limited" in the past. I think that he improved a lot with his stories and his direction. Very nice result. I hope his next movie will be as good as his last two films.

It has already been released in U.k and other European Countries.

saw it on wed, it's also a visual feast, the directing/cinematography is great, witty, quirky, oddball and the plot is also strange-ish, but yes Ralphy gives a top notch central performance. 7 out of 10. I would have given 8 or 9 had there been spaceships or aliens in it.
I've seen this advertised as trailers at the cinema, its got a great cast, but the film is not really my cup of tea, judging by the trailers.

I would suggest you to give it a try..It has also very high rating in Imdb (8.4). It's not an ordinary movie but this doesn't mean that it's a bad movie..If you like clever comedies/movies, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" will be a great choice..

Whaaaa, I'm going to pretend I didn't read those comments above :(

Just saw this - really great as ever from him. Typically excellent cinematography, bright colours, dry humour and fantastic characters as ever for him. The plot moved a little bit quick at points, but it was still really entertaining.

I think that Wes Anderson is very special director. He has already a big fanbase but his movies are certainly suitable/likeable for his fans. They haven't t the ordinary directory and they are not not Academic too. I don't think that there are many people which love action or horror movies and they like Anderson's movies too. Surely, they are some exceptions but they are not a significant number. "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is not the movie that you would choose if you were in a multiplex. But it's the movie which you would choose in a small cinema at the corner of the street (like me). I agree that cinematography is fantastic. I loved the bright colours of the movie too.

I didn't fully understand the plot the entire way through and in the end I was kind of on the fence. But I did really like the characters and it did make me laugh at times with the sheer ridiculousness of it all - the section with the ski slope was especially great. :D

My mother described it as "a silent movie but with speech", quite a fitting summary I thought.

This was fantastic. I went into with no expectations one way or the other and emerged feeling charmed and engaged. Fiennes owned it but it was so visually thrilling and I laughed out loud a few times.

I watched this (a bit reluctantly I might add) but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
