It's time once again for a chart that I count down every 3-4 years or so. Since the last time I counted it down a few major things have happened. Firstly it's grown significantly from a top 100 to a top 300! Secondly a significant new challenger for #1 has appeared in the last few years. Loreen's Euphoria topped my weekly chart for 17 weeks and WILL appear in the top ten for certain, but how high can it go? Songs from four decades appear in this countdown and I'll state their year of entry and peak in my chart if applicable (my chart began in June 1999). And of course I'll throw in a couple of random videos in each section, for the less familiar songs! Without further ado, here's the first 25:

275. Lise Karlsnes - Red Hot (2011 - #1)

276. Carrie Underwood -I Ain't In Checotah Anymore (2006 - #4)

277. XTM & DJ Chucky Presents Annia - Fly On The Wings Of Love (2003 - #1)

278. Liberty X -Song 4 Lovers (2005 - #2)

279. B*Witched - C'est La Vie (1998 - N/A)

280. Evelin Samuel & Camille - Diamond Of Night (1999 - N/A)

281. Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman - Time to Say Goodbye (Con te partirè) (1997 - N/A)

282. Milk Inc. - In My Eyes (2002 - #1)

283. Masai - Heaven & Hell (2001 - #4)

284. Sonority - Chase The Sun (2001 - #4)

285. Watergate - Heart Of Asia (2000 - #1)

286. Lutricia McNeal - Stranded (1998 - N/A)

287. Agnes - One Last Time (2012 - #1)

288. Staygold - Backseat (ft. Spank Rock, Damien Adore & Lady Tigra) (2010 - #1)

289. Timoteij - Kom (2010 - #1)

290. York - O.T.B. (On The Beach) (2000 - #1)

291. Savage Garden - To The Moon & Back (1998 - N/A)

292. Madonna - Cherish (1989 - N/A)

293. Deuce - I Need You (1995 - N/A)

294. Oasis Don't Look Back In Anger (1996 - N/A)

295. Kim Lukas - Let It Be The Night (2000 - #1)

296. Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (1987 - N/A)

297. Minimalistix - Close Cover (2002 - #1)

298. James Blunt - You're Beautiful (2005 - #1)

299. Anjo - Tears In The Rain (2002 - #1)

300. Nik Kershaw - The Riddle (1984 - N/A)

An all round random bunch to kick off with 80s hits from Nik Kershaw, Madonna and the song that was fittingly #1 on the day I was born by Starship. The 90s are represented by Oasis, Savage Garden, Lutricia McNeal, Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman, B*Witched and a trio of Eurovision-esque entries - Estonia's genuine entry from 1999, XTM's smash cover of the 2000 Danish winner and the song that should have been the UK entry in 1995 from Deuce! Other highlights include Rontvian BJSC entries from Lise Karlsnes and Staygold, a brilliantly ridiculous album track from Carrie Underwood, a few forgotten dance hits and Liberty X's last great single!

Carrie Underwood - I Ain't In Checotah Anymore

Masai - Heaven And Hell

Kim Lukas - Let It Be The Night

Hey again Rich, thought I'd comment properly as well as just sayin on facebook :heehee:

276. Carrie Underwood -I Ain't In Checotah Anymore (2006 - #4) Carrie has an astonishing voice, I've not listened to much of her stuff except for Before He Cheats which made my chart in 2008.

277. XTM & DJ Chucky Presents Annia - Fly On The Wings Of Love (2003 - #1) Haha oh I do remember this.

279. B*Witched - C'est La Vie (1998 - N/A)

281. Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman - Time to Say Goodbye (Con te partirè) (1997 - N/A) This makes me think of my Grandad now

286. Lutricia McNeal - Stranded (1998 - N/A) Undeniably class tune and one that I almost forget but when I somehow recall it it just sounds brilliant.

291. Savage Garden - To The Moon & Back (1998 - N/A) Love Savage Garden & Darren Hayes, I've actually recorded this song as a demo LOL it's a great song

292. Madonna - Cherish (1989 - N/A) Ooh nice Madonna classic, one I don't appreciate as much as LAP or Frozen though

294. Oasis Don't Look Back In Anger (1996 - N/A) Brilliant and one of the very few standouts Oasis tracks.

296. Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (1987 - N/A) Voted one of the worst songs ever apparently. Gets too much hate personally.

298. James Blunt - You're Beautiful (2005 - #1) What on earth was he thinking stripping off in the freezing cold. The most oddest video I have ever come across, lovely song though.

Excellent!

Eurovision or national final stuff from Margaret Berger, Sara Varga and Julie & Ludwig, Rontvian BJSC entries from Sanna Nielsen and Sheelah and a smattering of other amazing songs too, with particular attention to Amy McDonald's album track Barrowland Ballroom, such a hugely uplifting song and one of MANY reasons why 2007 was great (see also Mika and Nelly Furtado!)

Say It Right is so slick, in fact three songs from Loose made in here, what an album! Indeed, Helene and Alcazar have had a major impact on me already!

Agree with you about York and JX, such great classic dance tunes  Love Close Cover too, the piano melody is so gorgeous.

Yes indeed, stay tuned for more legendary dance songs!

Definitely this one

YASSSSS

She was so good for that album. Getting nostalgic now, I love music now but that time seems so much more... emotional somehow.

Dozens of other great choices here too, 'Say It Right' especially

Indeed, everything since has been such a step back in quality :( I do agree with you, but 2007, especially the second half, was something else altogether music-wise, the best six months for music of this century easily.

Hey Rich!

Great to see Carrie here, I Ain't In Checotah Anymore is a fab song from the debut album. Hoping to see some more entries from her over the course of this :D

Wow is one of my favourite Kylie tracks

Excellent so far, can't wait to see what else is left to appear. Loads of Delta please!

Hozier's recent Irish smash and Rontvian BJSC entry Take Me To Church sneaks in already alongside my 2009 BJSC winner Robots In Love. There's also some pure 90s pop from Take That and Spice Girls. Elsewhere, Inner City's gorgeous Spanish sounding 1999 reworking of Good Life, the amazing Carola with Invincible, a Kylie classic, an old Spanish ballad from Shakira, the UK's last Eurovision winner from Katrina and the Waves, some more Corrs songs and of COURSE 2007 represents once again with Kate Nash's wonderfully unlucky UK #2 Foundations and the best entry Russia have ever sent to Eurovision from Clubland TV favourites Serebro!

Lots of Delta to come and Lucie just appeared so I'm sure you'll appreciate that!

'Baby Be Brave' What a belter.

The final Sanna appearance BEST be Vågar du, vågar jag or I'm OUT.

Wasn't it amazing? Just one of FIFTEEN entries by The Corrs, that's more than Delta managed! I'm afriad it isn't that, although I do love it!

I also just realised that I had a song quite a bit higher up in twice, so I've removed the duplication and everything gets moved up a place. Which means that I can welcome in a new song at #300:

300. The Saturdays feat Flo Rida - Higher (2010 - #1)

Indeed, and WHAT an album it was, definitely in my all time top 20

Lots of Delta to come and Lucie just appeared so I'm sure you'll appreciate that!

It's actually my least favourite of all of hers I think :o All four of her albums are stunning from start to finish though, so so excited for new material from her.

LUCIE :cheer: What You're Made Of is probably my all-time favourite song, so so good and lots of memories associated with it.

Lee's life FULFILLED.

So many good songs here already Rich, I'm In Love, Grace Kelly and Love Shine A Light standing out especially, can't wait to see what's coming up.

206. H 'Two' O feat Platnum - What's It Gonna Be? (2008 - #1)

208. Masai - Do That Thang (2003 - #1)

209. TQ - Westside (1999 - N/A)

210. Honeyz - Finally Found (1998 - N/A)

211. Steps - Last Thing On My Mind (1998 - N/A)

212. Belinda Carlisle - Heaven Is A Place On Earth (1987 - N/A)

213. Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind (2008 - #2)

214. All Saints - Never Ever (1997 - N/A)

215. Natalie Imbruglia - Shiver (2005 - #1)

216. DJ Sammy - California Dreaming (2003 - #1)

217. Nelly Furtado feat Timbaland - Promiscuous (2006 - #2)

218. Vanilla Ninja - Cool Vibes (2005 - #2)

219. Boyzone - Gave It All Away (2010 - #2)

220. Christina Aguilera - Beautiful (2003 - #1)

221. Avi + Nat - Together (2001 - #2)

222. Milk Inc. - Land Of The Living (2002 - #2)

223. Malena Ernman - La Voix (2009 - #2)

224. Tone Damli Aaberge - Butterflies (2009 - #1)

The hits get bigger as the number get smaller! In this section we have Eurovision or NF stuff from opera diva Malena Ernman, Silas' favourite Tone Damli, the best Swiss entry ever from Vanilla Ninja and Iceland's finest schlager from Birgitta! Representing the 80s is Belinda Carlisle's euphoric pop anthem and for the 90s it's a list of veritable pop classics from All Saints, Honeyz, Steps and TQ. Well the latter is more for lovers of soulful rap, which I didn't realise I was one of but this song is too good to ignore. Dance songs from Milk Inc, DJ Sammy, Dannii Minogue and part of the H 'Two' O, the latter fondly remembered as one half of the great garage revival of late 2007/early 2008.

A couple of appearances in this section from Boyzone from their post reunion output, and a couple of songs which I'm sure nobody has heard of from Masai and Avi + Nat! Some Australian pop courtesy of Natalie Imbruglia's 'should have been a UK #1' Shiver and the cruelly underrated outside her home country Missy Higgins with Steer. Girls Aloud's gorgeous The Loving Kind and Nelly Furtado's jam Promiscuous also appear.

Masai - Do That Thang

TQ - Westside

H 'Two' O feat Platnum - What's It Gonna Be?

We can#t bring up The Loving Kind without this:

:kink: (assuming that works, can't tell with YouTube blocked at school)

Shiver is my favourite Natalie Imbruglia song, so so good and I'd say if you asked people to name a song by her other than Torn, most would name that one (if they could name any at all... :( ).
