Chart Highlights:

• Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending April 27) totaled 4.3 million units, down 19% compared with the sum last week (5.3 million) and down 17% compared with the comparable sales week of 2013 (5.2 million).
• Year-to-date album sales stand at 80.5 million, down 16% compared with the same total at this point last year (95.6 million).
• This week, "Frozen" becomes the first album to sell more than 2 million copies in 2014, as its YTD sales reach 2.1 million. Last year, the first album to cross 2 million in sales was Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience", which reached 2 million sales at the end of June.
• "The New Classic" is the highest-charting female rap album since Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" debuted at #1 in April 2012. It is also the highest charting début album by a female rapper since "Pink Friday" débuted at #2 in 2010.
• With just 14,000 sold, "You Make Me Brave" claims the lowest weekly sum at No. 10 since SoundScan started powering the chart on May 25, 1991. It falls below the previous low, tallied when Nickelback's "Here and Now" sold 17,000 on the chart dated Feb. 4, 2012.

Wow, I only just realised Adele is actually approaching 11 million sales :o Should reach that sometime before Q4...

 

Impressive for Iggy obviously, 52k is about 50k more than she would have opened with two months ago and she'll probably hang around very well as 'Fancy' properly explodes.

 

Also only just noticed how long it took Disclosure to re-enter the chart. Looks like they won't be album sellers :(
