Posted May 7, 201411 yr Welcome to 90s Dance Heaven. I posted a top 300 a few years ago, and I have now revised and expanded it to a top 500, which I will post over the next four days. Big thanks to Shireblogger from Haven Forum for his 2010 post All-Time Top 133 HOUSE, RAVE, TECHNO, TRANCE ACTS and also the Year-End charts also posted there. I have combined the sales of remixes and re-releases, and it's just based on physical sales from the 90s rather than all-time sales. All singles must have been released between January 1990 and December 1999. Obviously, the lower down the chart, the more likely it is the sales have been estimated, either by me or by Shireblogger. We've both tried to take into account how many weeks the song has spent in the top 75, the time of year, and how big overall sales were at the time. Also bear in mind that some records spent months more spent lower down the top 200. Where songs have tied on sales, I've ordered by peak position. Do take this list with a pinch of salt. I cannot guarantee the veracity of the figures, this is for entertainment purposes only etc. I've also probably managed to completely overlook or underestimate the sales of random top 20 hits. Do point them out :) I posted a poll in the dance forum about the controversial "are they or aren't they" songs and you all contradicted each other so the results weren't that helpful :D I've made up my own mind. On the main I've judged it song by song rather than the artist. I've decided that Cher's late 90s hits are clearly dance enough and are to be included. Aqua are in too - I see bubblegum as a form of eurodance, and they've got a rapper in it after all. Dance music doesn't have to have credible lyrics. May 7, 201411 yr Author Wow so many classix~ :heart: Surprising how little Liquid, Gusto & Gat Decor sold considering how well regarded they are! :o I've really been getting into "Passion" recently. Such a tune. I think Liquid should probably be a bit higher to be honest considering it was released twice - I think there will be inconsistencies because I considered some of Shireblogger's estimates to be overly generous but left them as they are, but where I've had to estimate I've been stingey. If people want to offer their own estimates with reasoning, I don't mind, this can be a "living chart". They probably should have re-released it a few years later it would have done a lot better

Stunning track which for the time it was released sounded utterly phenomenal, the remastered version he did in 2010 is worth a listen too (exactly the same just EQed for some extra punch). Probably just a bit too hard-sounding to sell higher for the time though, I do really like Better Off Alone and Til I Come but they're much more commercially friendly to late 1990s ears. Had they put a bland female vocal over the top and re-released it about 2002 I could see it going top 10.
