October 15, 201410 yr Author So here are my rankings at the moment: 01 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Cyprus.png Cyprus 02 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Russia.png Russia 03 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Belarus.png Belarus 04 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Serbia.png Serbia 05 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Netherlands.png The Netherlands 06 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Malta.png Malta 07 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Ukraine.png Ukraine 08 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Sweden.png Sweden 09 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Bulgaria.png Bulgaria 10 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Italy.png Italy 11 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Armenia.png Armenia 12 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Georgia.png Georgia 13 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Slovenia.png Slovenia 14 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Montenegro.png Montenegro 15 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/San_Marino.png San Marino 16 | http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Croatia.png Croatia Very high quality, my top 3 are especially fantastic! Belarus stands out to me as a likely winner, Russia would do too except there does seem to be quite a few similar ballads to it such as those from Serbia, Bulgaria and Slovenia and therefore the votes may be split.
October 17, 201410 yr Author I've edited the final line-up and my rankings with the Maltese entry now that it has premiered. If Federica can pull 'Diamonds' off live, Malta could definitely be up there once again as it is going to stand out so much!
October 27, 201410 yr Very rare thing, when I love JESC song, but Sweden did the right choice in this year. TGEIJfwrXwI JESC need to have more participants from Northern and Western Europe. Edited October 27, 201410 yr by Outcast

November 4, 201410 yr Author Also, online voting for non-participating countries has been announced with the song getting the most votes being presented with an Online Award trophy after the show. Details can be found here. Finally, the 2014 theme song '#together' has been released and it is sung by last year's winner Gaia Cauchi. Al participants will perform this during the final in a couple of weeks time. MhxDc8Dlaqo
November 10, 201410 yr Author Rehearsals began today and the running order was revealed yesterday. Malta's position as well as first and last position were drawn randomly while the rest drew halves and the producers decided the order from that. The draw is as follows: 01 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Belarus.png Belarus // Nadezhda Misyakova - Sokal (Falcon) 02 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Bulgaria.png Bulgaria // Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim - Planet Of The Children 03 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/San_Marino.png San Marino // The Peppermints - Breaking My Heart 04 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Croatia.png Croatia // Josie - Game Over 05 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Cyprus.png Cyprus // Sophia Patsalides - I pio omorfi mera - The Most Beautiful Day 06 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Georgia.png Georgia // Lizi Pop - Happy Day 07 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Sweden.png Sweden // Julia Kedhammar - Du är inte ensam 08 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Ukraine.png Ukraine // Sympho-Nick - Spring Will Come 09 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Slovenia.png Slovenia // Ula Ložar - Nisi sam / Your Light 10 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Montenegro.png Montenegro // Maša Vujadinovic & Lejla Vulić - Budi dijete na jedan dan 11 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Italy.png Italy // Vincenzo Cantiello - Tu primo grande amore 12 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Armenia.png Armenia // Betty - People Of The Sun 13 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Russia.png Russia // Alisa Kozhikina - Dreamer 14 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Serbia.png Serbia // Emilija Djonin - Svet u mojim očima / World In My Eyes 15 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Malta.png Malta // Federica Falzon - Diamonds 16 http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Netherlands.png The Netherlands // Julia - Around From what I gather reading fan forums, Cyprus and Bulgaria seem to be the fan favourites. Bulgaria is definitely an interesting case as from what I've read, Krisia is a massive star there and they are putting everything into this contest - I've seen comparison's to the effort Azerbaijan put in to Safura's 'Drip Drop'. Therefore it's very unfortunate - and shocking to the forums - that the producers have shoved Bulgaria into slot two, especially seeing as it is likely their result in this will determine if they will hurry back to adult Eurovision or not. Bulgarian TV even showed the opening ceremony apparently - the only broadcaster along with Malta to do so. In terms of who seem to be the favourites now the draw is out, Malta are looking very good for a second win in a row with the other biggest contenders possibly being Armenia, Russia and The Netherlands. Bulgaria seem to have been ruled out due to the draw and despite being my tip for the win, Belarus seem to have no hype at all and a horrible running order draw as well. I also wouldn't rule out Italy seeing as Vincenzo is the only male singer in the entire contest.
November 14, 201410 yr Author Lots of dramatic events today, with the first dress rehearsal earlier today having numerous problems with lighting, LED screens and pyrotechnics that affected nearly all performances apparently. And now, the jury dress rehearsal is underway (still) and has been for over three hours due to the shipyard's only power generator failing during the second performance of Bulgaria which halted the show for around an hour! It has since been reported that due to the events of tonight, the jury will no longer vote tonight and will do so tomorrow instead - but this has yet to be confirmed. It was all looking so good for Malta with their fantastic stage, hopefully they can get things sorted tomorrow! Power failure at dress rehearsal Malta - During tonight's dress rehearsal, a power failure interrupted the show for approximately 60 minutes. At the beginning of “Planet of the children”, the Bulgarian entry, a power failure caused the stage to go dark. Behind the scenes, the technical crew investigated the problem and found it to be a power failure for the LEDs and lighting. “This was unfortunate, but it does show the reality of live broadcasts and the importance of rehearsals – not just for the participants, but also for all technical aspects of the show. I have been assured by PBS, the host broadcaster, that all issues will be rectified in time for tomorrow night's televised final, as well as the the technical rehearsal tomorrow morning,” said Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev. Anton Attard, Executive Producer, said later in the evening that extra generators were being brought in to be fully prepared for tomorrow night's final. He also apologised to all delegations, members of the audience, and the European Broadcasting Union for the power failure. http://www.junioreurovision.tv/page/blog?i...dress_rehearsal

November 15, 201410 yr Author Federica just gave one of the most incredible performances I've ever seen!
November 15, 201410 yr Author Congratulations to the winners Italy! :cheer: Bulgaria, Armenia, Malta and Russia completed the top 5! Fantastic show and I'll post more later :D

The overall quality was outstanding - many songs would fit easily into the adult contest, and the overall show was fantastically produced and presented by Malta despite the slight hiccup in the jury rehearsal. You could tell the massive enthusiasm Malta have for Eurovision throughout the show and its so great to see a country so excited by a Eurovision contest. If you haven't tuned into a junior contest since the early years, I'd definitely give it a try once again as the allowance of adults to co-write and produce the song has seen an incredible increase in song quality. The results were all just about right too, the only songs massively out of position in my opinion were Malta (who should've won), Cyprus (were my pre-contest favourites although they did actually do better than I expected but should've been even higher) and Slovenia (who should've been in the top half at least). I guess the biggest question is could Bulgaria have won had they not performed in the second position? Nevertheless this should hopefully give Bulgaria the result they wanted considering the massive effort they put in, and hopefully will push them towards the adult contest again. Croatia on the other hand, unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised to see them stay away from both contests for a while now. But as I said it was a brilliant show and Junior Eurovision is definitely back on track with the increased participation numbers and the fantastic song quality - many people say it was the best ever. Here is the performance by eventual winner Vincenzo from Italy: aWKveH5_DY8 And here is the sensational Federica from Malta, this performance is just outstanding. The massive Maltese support in the crowd makes this such a moment, just incredible! wadHSXst3qk
November 16, 201410 yr at least moves like jagger didn't win malta's vocals are quite eh in some places bulgaria by far the best out of the few songs I heard italy... no hunni no
November 16, 201410 yr This actually turned out far better than I anticipated (which isn't exactly a compliment but still). I can take or leave that winner, Italy is essentially the 'fetch' of Eurovision but I don't actively dislike it so small mercies and all that.
December 27, 201410 yr Author The full jury and televoting details have now been revealed and you can view individual voting results from each country here! I haven't looked at them yet but it'll be interesting to see if there are any naughty juries in this contest with similar/same rankings! Here are the results if only televoting was used: 1. Bulgaria - 143 points 2. Armenia - 124 points 3. Ukraine - 100 points 4. Italy - 100 points 5. Russia - 89 points 6. The Netherlands - 69 points 7. Malta - 64 points 8. Belarus - 58 points 9. Cyprus - 42 points 10. Georgia - 41 points 11. Slovenia - 39 points 12. Serbia - 34 points 13. San Marino - 11 points 14. Montenegro - 10 points 15. Sweden - 3 points 16. Croatia - 1 point And if only jury voting was used: 1. Italy - 143 points 2. Armenia - 114 points 3. Malta - 113 points 4. Bulgaria - 86 points 5. Cyprus - 73 points 6. Russia - 72 points 7. Serbia - 65 points 8. Belarus - 62 points 9. The Netherlands - 44 points 10. Georgia - 44 points 11. Sweden - 39 points 12. Ukraine - 24 points 13. Montenegro - 21 points 14. Slovenia - 14 points 15. San Marino - 11 points 16. Croatia - 3 points Bulgaria winning the televoting easily from second in the running order! :o Italy only coming fourth in the televote! Other big surprises are Slovenia struggling so much with the juries with a well-sung ballad and Ukraine getting such a different result to their televote.
