Posted May 12, 201411 yr Might as well start this early. BBC and Sky both reporting that Liverpool have bid for Adam Lallana whilst Manchester United have made a £27m bid for Luke Shaw. Really feel for Southampton, feel that they're going to lose their manager and two of their best players over the summer.
May 13, 201411 yr I came here just to start the same topic! I do feel for Southampton, but even without those two they should have enough about themselves to stay clear of relegation. Cork, Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse, Wanyama, Ramirez, Lambert and Rodriguez (remember him?) are all good players and the defence is solid. And this is before they invest any of the money. What does everyone think their team needs in the window? For me, West Ham need at least one full back, another central midfielder and an attacking playmaker as well as another striker. In theory keeping hold of Armero, Nocerino and Morrison would take care of the first three but I'm not convinced. There's talk of us bringing Demba Ba back but I'd have thought he's actually the most likely of Chelsea's strikers to stay as he'd be less unhappy as a back-up. It'll be interesting to see who from the relegated teams looks likely to leave, wouldn't mind Hooper and Holtby.
May 13, 201411 yr Seems as if the Diego Costa to Chelsea is a done deal - delighted with that purchase. I can see Chelsea purchasing another striker with Eto'o on his way out. It wouldn't surprise me if Demba Ba / Torres were also offloaded with Lukaku finally getting a chance. I still think Chelsea will need a new left back, center back and a new midfielder. I'm still wanting to see what Jose does regarding the Courtois, it's being speculated that he could be joining Barcelona.

Funny feeling he'll be ending up at Athletico. Madness from Chelsea, but what do you expect with a whole squad out on loan! Liverpool need two full backs first and foremost. Then after that I'm not sure. Need another midfielder and an attacking goalscorer if the Lallana deal goes through. Don't think it' so clear cut as if judging by this season we'll be quite fluid with our formations, even saw 3-4-3 against Newcastle.

Another left back (Shaw would be ideal) and a more ball-playing replacement for Mikel and I think you're sorted.
May 23, 201411 yr Seems a lot even though he does have an established partnership with Thiago Silva. Very good business for Chelsea regarding FFP given it basically cancels out the Costa transfer, though.
May 23, 201411 yr Author Jesus no idea how PSG are paying that much money for Luiz. I can only assume the £40m is the total cost of the deal once bonuses etc. are added on. Either way, Chelsea are getting rid of all their possession based players, park the bus time it is!
May 23, 201411 yr Luiz? Possession? It's more that they're ditching anyone Mourinho can't trust. I don't like seeing it but they'll still dominate most teams. No question of them being as reactionary as Atletico against ordinary teams.

He's a loose cannon sometimes, but when you have a player than brings the ball out of defence well, you're not to expect that 5% of the time they're likely to lose the ball, or be the victim of a well-trained tackle. Barcelona have been in for him the past coupe of seasons, but £40.. gee, no value at all.

He's a ball playing defender for sure but his passing stats from midfield aren't anything special and that's surely where Mourinho would have played him.

That's because he's not a midfielder though. Chelsea are getting a mint deal, and if any club offered that you snap their hand off. I think he could be coached in to a defensive midfield position, but I don't think that's really a Mourinho type of play to do that. But he's a defender. Really think they'll pump the money in to the deal for Luke Shaw now, as his move to Man Utd is stalling.

Not sure how much Van Gaal had to do with that one.
May 24, 201411 yr Author United have just offered Evra another year as well. Not sure how much Van Gaal had to do with that one. Honestly Man Utd is going to be hilarious again this season. Their transfer targets so far seem to have consisted of Kroos, Hummels, Muller and Robben. Honestly I don't know what planet their CEO lives on.
May 29, 201411 yr Author Liverpool close to agreeing a deal for Ricky Lambert. Talks on-going for Lovren and Lallana. Might as well just buy the whole team :D

May 30, 201411 yr Lambert is such a poor purchase. Lambert would be a decent signing I'd say. He's a different type of striker compared to Suarez and Sturridge and would give them a different attacking option.
May 30, 201411 yr I assumed Lambert would be the one to stay. Will be interesting if Rodriguez stays whether he can do as well next season.
May 30, 201411 yr Lambert is a fantastic signing for Liverpool, they don't need to improve their first choice front line, but they do certainly need depth there, having Lambert as well as the returning Borini is great business for them, he's probably only got a couple of seasons in him but you couldn't have picked a player from the Premier League who would want to move there more.
