People call me deluded.

How has she taken control exactly and in what world is this song a risk? Her team chose it because it was by Will.i.Am and was like a Scream & Shout P II.

A pop star scraping #7 with songs DESIGNED for mass sales is not good.

Well I don't think you're deluded but I think it's much too early to write Work Bitch! off.

The song is a genuine and pretty decent Swedish house song with Britney's vocals and a nod to RuPaul's Supermodel added, with production that is FAR better than will.i.am. Whether or not it's a risk... eh, I think for general American audiences it is, but not exactly for much of her fan base (the gayz).

For example, I was out at a pub the other night to watch the match and as the match was ending gay night was starting.

They played Woman's World, this Britney song, Hold it Against Me, and some other stuff and not one of those tracks stood out. It all sounded like generic dance. So it doesn't sound like a risk at all as it's like anything else out there that anyone could sing.

People call me deluded.

It is risky for the American market. Not sound wise... I meant more for the fact that the title is "Work, Bitch". And the double standard towards pop music when it comes to being explicit is very real. I'm not trying to say it doesn't appeal to her fanbase, but for the general public, it is unexpected. It's a RISK for her market outside of her fanbase.

We are talking about Britney Spears. She hasn't penned a single since "Everytime", she has co-written the entire album... and 2 of the songs on her upcoming album are entirely written by her and features production credits by her. This has been confirmed by her label, herself and her management. That to me is taking control, especially when you take a look at her last two albums and her involvement. She also co-produced the music video with Ben Mor for "Work, Bitch".

I'm not comparing her artistry to Lane Del Rey, but this is a huge upstep when it comes to her controlling the music she is releasing, instead of being fed pop songs by Max Martin and Dr. Luke.

I just said WB is underperforming, thus far. But it IS on the upswing. She is not the "IT" girl, anymore, she is 15 years into her career. How many pop artists besides Madonna are still consistently selling well? Not to mention for the first time since her breakdown she seems genuinely interested in her career again. I'm notn saying I don't care about my favorite artists success, sales wise... but I'd much rather have the Britney that is involved with her musical output and doing average, instead of just stamping her name on a song and it being massive.

Miley has increased coz of SNL performance, that's what Work Bitch is lacking and low airplay.

I've ignored 'We Can't Stop' & 'Wrecking Ball' as both were sold from the album rather than singles, so it's hard to work out which are truly new entries.

ALSO. The Fox Song is a disgrace to music.
It's not supposed to be taken seriously. It's basically Norway's (?) version of a Lonely Island, piss take song, kinda. (But you probably knew that and was just stating it doesn't make difference )

14. Britney Spears - Work Bitch [There's no saving this song now]

There's plenty of time for 'Work Bitch'. I'm still quite confident that she'll get back in the top 10 and stay there for a while. It's not the sort of song that smashes straight in, falls and gets forgotten. It is one of those songs that gradually builds and builds it's sales/airplay. For Britney, this is a different step. Usually she smashes straight in and sticks around for a while, so it's nice that she'll have a track like this for a change.

(Fully prepared to eat my words within the next month or so )

99. Paris Hilton - Good Time (feat. Lil Wayne)

'Royals' back at #1.

I presume we're going to see Bieber hitting #1 every Monday before being replaced within a couple of days for the next 2 and a half months then.

Everyone seems so willing for Britney to flop around the forum these days, it's bizarre for such a good big pop artist on a website that has a huge base of pop fans.
