Posted May 28, 201411 yr The latest movie from Family Guy and Ted creator, Seth MacFarlane. Out Friday, also stars Charlize Theron and Liam Neeson. LhmP8UYtipA You only need to look at who it's created by to tell it's going to be silly but it also looks enjoyable enough to go and watch.
June 4, 201411 yr Silly, rude, gross, non-pc. Just what fans of Family Guy would expect really. I LOVE Family Guy, and I enjoyed this. Not as good as Ted, but great to see a rare western, and teen comedy (or teen-minded) that has more going for it, loads of pop culture references and social gags (19th century, 20th century and 21st century). Good cast and as usual Meg wasn't there - but was mentioned in spirit as a sort of swearword in Native American ("Milakunis"). Cameos from Christopher Lloyd (as Doc Brown) and Ryan Reynolds, among others. Any actor in a Seth MacFarlane comedy has to be game for a laugh, and they are. Mostly teens in the audience, plus me and my 75-year-old mum, who enjoyed it. Don't go if you get offended by the f word, scatalogical gags (poor Dougie Howser), sexual gags and slapstick. Seth singing a Muslim chant, to the tune of (it sounds to me like) Tarzan Boy by Baltimora, is fairly typical. Some of the critics comments are valid, it's not a sidesplitter, more a chuckler, a bit too long, Seth as a leading man takes some getting used to, but at least he has trusty cast support from the likes of Giovanni Ribisi. 6 or 7 out of 10, not bad.
June 6, 201411 yr the only reason i'm planning to watch this is because i really enjoyed ted only reason
June 7, 201411 yr Author I enjoyed this more than I expected, even as a big fan of Family Guy, very watchable. Seth makes a cute lead, the supporting cast were great and it was generally amusing. Thought the ending was very decent too and I liked what I'm calling Neil Patrick Harris' tribute to "Bridesmaids". Mostly teens in the audience, plus me and my 75-year-old mum, who enjoyed it. Nice to hear your mum enjoyed it. During the ice scene a couple of middle aged women in my screening got up and left having decided it wasn't for them.

July 26, 201411 yr I watched this movie yesterday!! It was released in my country many weeks ago but we didn't watch it because we preferred other titles (Devil's Knot, Two Faces of January, Edge of Tomorrow, Maleficent, Homesman etc). However, we were lucky because an outdoor cinema which is very close to my area choosed to show this movie this week. The ticket cost only 2.50 euros so we couldn't miss this movie for anything..:P I haven't watched "The Family Guy" yet but I watched Ted two years ago. The latter is one of the funniest movies in the last years. So, I was sure that "A Million Ways To Die In the West" wouldn't be as funny as Ted. However, we laughed many times during the movie and the dialogues were totally hilarious!!! This movie has many gags and the characters are very humorous too. It reminds me of old times when Hollywood used to release movies like "Blazzing Saddles". This movie has a great cast for a comedy (Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Giovanni Ribisi, Amanda Seyfriend) and we rarely watch these actors in funny movies. However, a real talent is not only good in drama roles but also in comedies. Seth Macfarlane with Charlize Theron are the most funny couple this year (so far) and I think that Neil Patrick Harris has the most funny character of the movie (The scene with the hat was riot!!). The screenplay was tragic but you couldn't take it seriously anyway. Seth MacFarlance seems to have given all his attention to this movie. He is the director, the writer, the producer and the leading actor. So, you realise that this man isn't a random guy in Hollywood. The cinematography was very simple but decent for this movie. "A Million Ways to Die in the West" isn't a big commercial success like Ted. Nevertheless, it overcame its budget ($40.000.000) and it managed to earn the double amount of money ($84.000.000). I really can't count how may times I laughed in this movie. There were also many people that laughed out loud in the cinema too. I haven't seen this reaction to a film like this in a long time. It's the suitable choice for an outdoor cinema and you will laugh out loud too!!! It's the definition of "rowdiness" (in a good way meaning). ps Charlize is totally gorgeous here.
