Will Young announces new album 85% Proof

Will Young has announced the title of his new album.

 

The original Pop Idol will release 85% Proof on May 25 as his sixth studio collection, and his first since moving to Island Records back in 2012.

Young revealed the accompanying album artwork on Instagram earlier today (March 25), after joining the social media platform last week.

 

It will be preceded by new single 'Love Revolution', which will be premiered on BBC Radio 2 this Friday (March 27) from 8.30am.

 

85% Proof serves as the follow-up to Young's 2011 album Echoes, which topped the UK chart.

 

To date, all five of Young's collections have been certified platinum or higher, making him one of the most successful male artists to have come out of a reality competition in the UK.

 

He has had three chart-topping albums in the UK, while the remaining two reached number two on the chart.

WOW! WOW! :yahoo: Well isn't this exciting.

 

Album No. 7 - unbelievable that we are even getting this a whole 13 years later Mr Young is still in the music biz despite those who said he wouldn't have a career longer than six months.

 

I have to be honest, not too keen on the title or the artwork but i am sure it may grow on me. I'd prefer just 'Proof' to be honest as the album cover and it's abit of a random pose - thats all...! It's ALOT sooner than i was expecting we normally get the album in Q4 August time...also then you take advantage of a higher sales period so it may sell less. I hope we get some boxsets Universal do them for nearly all their artists.

 

Either way. Can't wait for the album and the single premiere :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I'm sure it'll be good.
