Posted June 3, 201411 yr This is always a nice little bet if you fancy a flutter! Lionel Messi 7 Neymar 11 Sergio Aguero 14 Cristiano Ronaldo 16 Fred 22 Luis Suarez 22 Diego Costa 25 Romelu Lukaku 25 Karim Benzema 33 Thomas Muller 33 Robin van Persie 33 Mario Balotelli 40 Miroslav Klose 50 Hulk 50 Wayne Rooney 40 Edinson Cavani 40 Edin Dzeko 50 Daniel Sturridge 66 Fernando Torres 50 Marco Reus 66 Olivier Giroud 66 Teofilo Gutierrez 66 Franck Ribery 66 Arjen Robben 66 Alexis Sanchez 66 Jackson Martinez 50 Eden Hazard 75 Mario Goetze 66 Andre Schurrle 80 Oscar 66 Odds taken from Paddy Power. Obviously a lot of it is guess work dependent on how far the country will go. I'd probably plump for Fred though. And for an each-way bet you can Dzeko at 100/1 at some bookmakers.. I will be all of that.
June 3, 201411 yr I've got £10 each way on Higuan at 22/1 (PaddyPower offer a £5 free bet for each goal your player scores if you bet £20 on him), also smaller bets on Lukaku, Sanchez and Dzeko (though only got 66s). Also felt that Drogba, Hernandez and Mandzukic were worth 50p each way at 150/1, all it takes is one good game. Edited June 3, 201411 yr by RabbitFurCoat
June 3, 201411 yr Neymar will win the golden boot I reckon, Brazil should get to at least the semi finals which automatically means that they will play the full amount of 7 games in the tournament and he will score in almost all of those games I think. He'll probably win the golden ball as well as player of the tournament. As for the golden gloves maybe minoglet (Belgium goalkeeper) might win that.

I don't think Mignolet is first choice for Belgium (fairly certain Courtious is). I expect 6 goals could win it. Neymar plays different in a Brazil squad, but I really do wonder whether Brazil are being overrated. The squad Scolari has taken has some horrendously out of form players in it. He's really taken a risk by sticking with the squad that's got him this far.
June 21, 201411 yr I'm expecting Muller to win the golden boot, expecting him to get another couple vs Ghana!
July 7, 201411 yr I don't think anyone would have had James Rodriguez in mind as top scorer. Still a chance for Messi or Muller to catch up though, who are both 2 goals away My pick would be Fred or Neymar Honestly what was I thinking with Fred. I guess I just assumed that Brazil would be in it until the end and Fred is their man striker. He did well at the Confederations Cup, so I have an excuse there right? Neymar also out of the tournament, so no golden boot for him
July 7, 201411 yr Rodriguez is adorable - I really hope he can hold on and I think he might. I'm not counting Brazil out (which would likely put Muller out of contention) and Argentina are iffy against the Netherlands. I could see Messi and Rodriguez ending level.
July 7, 201411 yr Author I think it will probably be a tie now, James and Messi. If Argentina get to the final, I can't not see Messi being the headline maker. I thought Fred would score a few goals, especially with how Brazil set up, but he's been laughably awful.
July 9, 201411 yr Did anybody see Muller reaction when Schürrle scored his first goal against Brazil tonight? I'm sure he was thinking that could have arguably cost him the golden boot. If Messi manages to show up against Netherlands then the golden boot will be incredibly interesting.
July 12, 201411 yr It's between James Rodriguez & Thomas Muller I think now, Messi wont score 2 or more goals in the final. What a nice 23rd birthday present a golden boot would be for Rodriguez!

July 14, 201410 yr James Rodriguez has just increased his price tag significantly! Don't see him being at Monaco much longer.
July 14, 201410 yr Author James Rodriguez has just increased his price tag significantly! Don't see him being at Monaco much longer. He's Real Madrid bound. Which is utterly stupid seeing as they already have three players exactly like him, tho you would imagine he's probably the long term successor to Ronaldo.
