June 12, 201411 yr SO many people are preferring this one over the first, but as much as I really, REALLY enjoyed it (and I did enjoy it)... the first is just much better! It's probably because I found it more cohesive and coherent. 'We're The Millers' last year was funnier for me, but this will be the comedy of the year (I get the feeling 'Inbetweeners' will disappoint for some reason!).
June 12, 201411 yr The first was pretty stupid, but I loved the tripping scene where the guy's head turned into an ice cream cone. Anything match that?

'We're The Millers' last year was funnier for me, but this will be the comedy of the year (I get the feeling 'Inbetweeners' will disappoint for some reason!). The first is a better film in terms of actually being a film, but the second is just generally funnier and more action packed. It's miles better than the first, and I loved the first film. Everything accomplished in the original reboot is just dwarfed by the sequel. The first was pretty stupid, but I loved the tripping scene where the guy's head turned into an ice cream cone. Anything match that? I love the opening scene where Schmidt gets in to character. There's a stand-up poetry bit which is brilliant, but the best part of film is how they make Ice Cube's role bigger. Now that is hilarious. Also you need to stay around for the end credits, they're amazing.
June 12, 201411 yr That's all very true. The first scene in the film with Schmidt was SO good and the end credits are indeed genius! Seth Rogen's cameo is perfect!
June 12, 201411 yr Saw it on Saturday and I've never seen a cinema laugh so much. A couple of scenes suffered from Anchorman-itis in trying to resurrect old jokes from the first one (the tripping scene for instance) but I suppose that was inevitable when it makes such a joke out of how sequels are always worse. It is quite long and anything that isn't brilliant in the last third feels like it drags a little. The first one is certainly more coherent but I couldn't say which I preferred.

I need to watch the end credits scene again, as I bet there's so many jokes I missed. That one you mentioned was especially funny, although my favourite was them mentioning about a White House Down themed Jump Street, and Channing Tatum says no it's too soon :D
