Chart Commentary

Sam Smith earns his 4th number one with "I'm Not The Only One"

and in doing so he becomes the first male solo artist to replace

himself at the top spot with a different song. Since the beginning

of the chart, 11 different artists have accomplished this feature,

10 of them by female solo artists and 1 by a female fronted

rock band (Paramore).

 

3 more new entries from Sam Smith enter the chart in the form

of "Lay Me Down", "Good Thing" and "Reminds Me Of You". His

Naughty Boy collaboration "La La La" also re-enters this chart

at #4. The track originally peaked at #3 back in 2013 for 2 weeks

and was the 48th best seller of that year selling 300,840 copies.

 

2 tracks from Aiden Grimshaw also hit a position. New entry

"Breathe Me" at #9 and 2012 hit "Is This Love?" which betters

its original peak of #6 by 3 places. The track had sold 140,070

copies in 2012 and was the 110th best seller of that year.
