Lucie's second album 'The same side' is due for release on November 13th in the UK and October 20th in Holland. I've just got back from a gig where she showcased a lot of the new material and they are all fantastic. The best way to describe them is similar to the 'Breathe in' material but slightly rockier.

The first single will be 'Last year' out November 6th. The second and third tentative singles are 'Sinking in' and 'Place to hide' respectively.

I hated being sat down at last nights gig. It is impossible to sit down at a Lucie gig!

And Graham - she's more of an albums artist so as long as it creates awareness of the album, it doesn't matter if it gets top 10. The second single 'Sinking in' sounds like a definite hit to me though! :D

Tbh, I can't see her going any further with this album than her last if she doesn't have a killer first single, she doesn't seem to be very established :(

Well 'Breathe in' sold consistently for the first three singles, so there's no reason why she can't sell consistently with this album. The first and second singles are so different they will appeal to completely different markets!

She was lucky to get her 2 top 10 singles, releaseing on slow weeks. They didnt sell exceptionally and the album sold what? 300,000 copies? That makes it gold. I do like her style and music but I just don't think she's got what it takes to survive in the current market. 'Last Year' didn't really grab me and others I know, she has talent but the market will reject her I think :(

selling 300,000 makes it platinum. 100,000 is gold. imo i think she is just another underrated artist, and its not about the sales for these artists, they do it for the enjoyment of pleaing their fans, and thats why they do so many gigs. the new album probaly wont do that great, but as long as the music critics praise her for her talent then its fine!

The new single is nowhere near as good as What you're made of (which is one of the finest songs ever made imo) so I'm thinking it might flop. I will buy it anyway as I have all of her singles and I loved her live last year in Brighton too!!!

Another song i have heard that will be on this album is Song For Sam which i have a live version of and it is great. I have also heard I clip of the same side and it also good. Last Year is probably the best song of the 3

Song for Sam won't be on the album for private reasons Lucie won't reveal. She told me she's recording it so it should end up as a b-side and might go on the American album.

Thats a shame, i have been waiting a while for this album and will be getting it the day it comes out!

It would be a bad idea to release the album before the single as everyone would get the album and then not buy the single.

She's always been an albums artist though, so even if 'Last year' flops, it won't matter if the album is selling.

Mercury blatently have been pushing her as an 'album's artist.

If they wanted a hit single last album, they would have made Lucie release 'Nothing Else Matters' the mettalica cover, that's what they did everywhere else & it made her massive.

The new album, from what I've heard is fantastic & as Daz keeps saying, 'if' Last Year flops, so what, KT Tunstalls first single BH&TCT didn't do very well & she had sold a million albums 12 months later.

We'll wait & see what lucie pulls out of the bag :D

Looks like the album will be coming out after the single now.
