I recently discovered a song that had been getting a little bit of hype on ATRL forums called 'Blackout' by Australian singer Bonnie Anderson. It has received many comparisons to Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' and I can see why, although I find 'Blackout' much more instant than 'Dark Horse' ever was for me. Bonnie won Australia's Got Talent in 2007 when she was just 12 years old and this is her second single following 'Raise The Bar' which was released at the end of last year and charted at #55 according to Wikipedia.

 

This song was released on Australian iTunes a couple of days ago and has gone top 30 on their iTunes chart which is promising!

 

Really like this. The beat is similar to (but less hyonotic than) Dark Horse but it's well produced and melodic enough to stand on its own feet. Good video too. Hard to believe she's only 19.
