robbie must have sold around 100.000 more than westlife but released 6 singles more than westlife.

To be honest if Robbie stopped today, Westlife are unlikely to catch his sales total up.

Westlife are so last 2001!

They havent achieved much success both their last albums have bombed really compared to robbie's

And who cares?Who are weslife? Here in Brazil their last album shipped 3,000 copies (God knows how many are still in shelves). In Germany their last album was # 18 or something, when Robbie spent ages at # 1... So Robbie has less # 1 singles in UK, and who cares? Angels is a classic, sold 1 million copies, and was not even Top 3, so who cares for a Westlife # 1 that goes 1-5-17-68 and sells 60k. They probably won´t even be number one anymore, since downloads have taken over and these days you can´t get these cheap MCFly/Westlife numbers ones based on fanatical fanbase alone.

Plus, Tripping was # 1 in Germany, when Westlife never had a Top 10 hit there... Robbie had loads of #1 albums and singles all over the world, when Westlife are number one only in UK/Ireland, and just rarely in other places.

So, Rudebox is far from being the best song on earth, but at last it´s something different. What will be the next Westlife single? A cover of an old ballad?

Westlife lowest no.1 to be fair sold 170.000 and was mandy

Westlife lowest no.1 to be fair sold 170.000 and was mandy

So what has the got to do with this?

dido fan said that they sell 60.000

angels also never sold a million

Oh right sorry  Well, I think he means that they usually sell 60k in their first week, not altogether ;)

And you're right, Angels didn't sell a million copies, but it did ship a million - which is why there is some confusion -_-

they never got a no.1 with 60.000, their lowest week at no.1 was 70.000

anyway, I will be happy if at the end Westlife score only a few more no.1's. I don't want them to overtake the beatles or elvis but we can overtake cliff richard and that's enough of a boyband of 21st century. Also from now on i wil be happy with every top 5 entry Westlife will have.

I think 60k was only a rough estimation Charis, don't shoot us for getting it slightly wrong ;)

I for one hope Westlife don't get any more Top 5 entries, but that's probably just me :(

they need at least one more to break the record of most consecutive top 5 hits! And they're releasing the long waited single The Dance which is loved by the fans!

you are so right Dido fan. :)

Robbie is mega is in loads of countries, where his albums and singles sell by the bucket load. If only the British public new how popular he is. Afraid it is only his fans that do.

ok he is big in the uk. He can't be so big world wide

Oh jesus. What a pointless arguement

Their is'nt a work in the English lauguage that could possibly describe how utterly c**p Westlife are.

Robbie is one of the only pop stars who actually writes his own music like a proper singer not a manifactured piece of utter $h!te like Westlife who just do cover after cover.

Robbie is bloody massive outside the UK. All around the word except the US of A. His albums average sales are aroudn 6 million worldwide, what are Westlife's? 1 or 2 or even less most likely. :)

Oh good grief  Singles are not important. It's ALBUMS sales which artists are remembered for.

actually i think it's Singles that people are remembered for, but its the process of selling the album bulk that makes people have careers

should that be:

Robbie is one of the only pop stars who actually writes his own music like a proper singer with help from the bloke from failed pop group the lemon Trees and help from a failed 80s popstar called tintin  not a manifactured piece of utter $h!te like Westlife who just do cover after cover.
