Last weeks theme was for the song that took a long time to reach number 1. The contenders were [i think]

You chose Mine as your pop gem as Taylor Swift scored her 8th number one. Please watch the video for this amazing song

 

 

Why it had to be Taylor

1] She is a classic artist and one of the best of the last few years, 2] it took one of the longest amount of time to get to number 1 and 3] the song is so so amazing

 

The Chart-Run

On original release, Mine debuted in 18 before falling to 37 which ended her 2 week chart run. However 3 years later I finally started to listen to the song properly as I now loved Taylor and I got into it so much. The song re-entered at 3 on 29 September before climbing to number 1 on 5 October for 2 weeks. The song had an extra week at the top on 2 November [after being knocked off for 2 weeks by another Swift song]. The song has now sold 1,082,440 which is like Taylor's 6th million seller.

Great song there, absolutely love Taylor and Mine is one of her best I think (although I could say that about loads of songs of hers)
