I'll be amazed if Taylor manages to sell over 1 million in opening week again. It is amazing how she managed to do this twice in a row. Unless she makes a song like WANEGBT and have massive dominance on iTunes, I can only see her doing around 650k for her next album.

 

If by 'like WANEGBT' you mean how poppy that is and Max Martin produced I think the first single will be in the same vein. From what I've heard rumoured I think she's worked with Max Martin for a fair amount of the next album. :unsure:

 

I agree with Noahspike about the Red era perhaps doing her a bit of long-term damage in the US but she's sacrificed that for bigger worldwide success. I think doing 1m+ first week for the third time in a row would be an uphill struggle both with the sales climate and the country fanbase turning on her. But hopefully what she loses there can be made up in other markets and pop radio embracing her more?

I also think that her current pop star status is not only a good thing for her album sales... There are not many pure pop acts that can sell 1 million let alone 2. 600k for opening sales and 1.8 million by end of the year is my prediction.
