I have very small interest (near with zero) in modern music and prefer to finish retro charts. There is many official old charts in Web for free. It's very good source for compiling of retro charts. Unfortunately, it's hard to find the date of release for many non-charting singles (even from 70s).  Most my retro charts are not very long (sometimes top 10, but mostly top 20). Some weeks ago I finally found Billboard Pop ME list, which include even pre-charts era. Don't want to start in 1920s, but 1949 year seems a good time for my first personal retro chart.

I say good on you for compiling them, don't let other people put you off ^_^
