Nah (and Fantasia isn't even that bad!), the story is a great twist on the 'classic' Disney tale, with lots of clever pop culture references and some of the best songs they've ever done. I think overall it's a template they should use going forward. There's definitely a reason why it's been a juggernaut at the box office.

'When Somebody Loved Me' from TS2 is my favourite, gutted it's not made it this far </3

This song is the second from the Soundtrack, Allmusic stated that "That includes Ashley Tisdale, who returns as thwarted musical theater queen Sharpay and is the soundtrack's star. A childhood musical theater veteran herself, Tisdale's chirpy, slightly saccharine voice is perfect (and sometimes, perfectly annoying) on songs like "Fabulous" a piece of diva-tastic pop that could also appear on the soundtrack to My Super Sweet 16. However, her turn on the Polynesian-flavored "bonus" track "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a" crosses the line from cute to far too cutesy, and could be the final straw for listeners past their early teens."[1] The Jason Nevins remix of the song was launched as promotional song for the remix album High School Musical Hits Remixed, with a music video

POSITION IN ROUND 2: AUTO QUALIFIER

"Be Our Guest" is a song written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman for Walt Disney Pictures' 30th animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast (1991). Originally recorded by American actor Jerry Orbach and English actress Angela Lansbury as Lumiere and Mrs. Potts, respectively, "Be Our Guest," a Broadway musical-inspired song, takes place within the first half of Beauty and the Beast in the style of a large-scale musical number by the castle's staff of enchanted servants to Belle in an attempt to make her feel welcome.

During Beauty and the Beast, "Be Our Guest" is a vibrant musical number that takes place shortly after Belle, having just recently sacrificed her own freedom in return for her father's, is imprisoned by the Beast and subsequently confined to her bedroom. Hungry, Belle soon ventures into the iamspamspamami where she is greeted by Lumiere. Immediately, Lumiere leads Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth and the castle's staff of enchanted objects in an elaborate production number – an attempt to officially welcome Belle to the Beast's castle, warmly inviting the character to literally "be [their] guest."

"Be Our Guest" has garnered widespread critical acclaim from film and music critics alike who, in addition to repeatedly deeming the song "show-stopping," praised its catchiness, Ashman and Menken's songwriting and Orbach's performance while applauding the scene's ground-breaking, unprecedented use of computer-generated imagery, additionally citing its Busby Berkeley-inspired choreography as a strong asset. "Be Our Guest" has since been extolled as one of Disney's most celebrated and popular songs, establishing itself as one of the studio's greatest and most iconic. "Be Our Guest" received nominations for both the Golden Globe and Academy Awards for Best Original Song, ultimately losing both to the film's title song. "Be Our Guest" has been ranked highly on several "best Disney song" countdown lists, garnering recognition from IGN, M and the American Film Institute. In addition to appearing in the Broadway musical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, "Be Our Guest" was performed by Orbach live at the 64th Academy Awards, has been parodied in an episode of The Simpsons and covered by Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Chipettes.

Two auto qualifiers already out. Surprised Be Our Guest was that low and hoped Fabulous got higher.

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" is a song from the 1964 Disney musical film Mary Poppins. The song was written by the Sherman Brothers, and sung by Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. It also appears in the stage show version. Because Mary Poppins was a period piece set in 1910, songs that sounded similar to songs of the period were wanted

POSITION IN ROUND 2: =5 IN POT 1

"When You Wish upon a Star" is a song written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for Walt Disney's 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio.[1] The original version was sung by Cliff Edwards in the character of Jiminy Cricket,[1] and is heard over the opening credits and in the final scene of the film. The song has since become the representative song of The Walt Disney Company. The recording by Cliff Edwards and Chorus was released by Victor Records as catalogue number 261546 and 26477A (in USA) and by EMI on the His Master's Voice Label as catalogue number BD 821.

Edwards recorded another version in 1940 for an American Decca Records "cover version" of the score of Pinocchio, conducted by Victor Young and featuring soprano Julietta Novis and The King's Men. It was first released on a 4-record 78-RPM album set, and years later as one side of an LP, backed by selections from The Wizard of Oz. A recording with Christian Rub (with Mister Geppetto's voice), Cliff Edwards and Chorus was released by Victor Records as catalogue number 26479B (in USA) and by EMI on the His Master's Voice label as catalogue number BD 823. It won the 1940 Academy Award for Best Original Song.[1] It was also the first Disney song to win an Oscar.

Originally written as the theme song for the 1995 Disney/Pixar animated film Toy Story, it has since become the theme song for its sequels, Toy Story 2 (1999) and Toy Story 3 (2010). The song was nominated for both the 1996 Academy Award for Best Original Song and the 1995 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song but lost both to another Disney song, "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas.

Like many other Disney theme songs, "You've Got a Friend in Me" has been covered numerous times. Cover versions featured in the three Toy Story films include a duet with Newman and Lyle Lovett in Toy Story, a version by Robert Goulet and an instrumental by Tom Scott in Toy Story 2, an Italian language version by Riccardo Cocciante, and a Spanish language version by the Gipsy Kings in Toy Story 3.

On February 4, the digital download was made available for purchase. Angelina Jolie, who plays the film's lead role, picked Del Rey herself to perform the song

POSITION IN ROUND 2: 4 IN POT 2

"For the First Time in Forever" is a song from Disney's 2013 animated feature film Frozen, with music and lyrics composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. It is reprised later in the musical. Both versions are sung by princess sisters Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel).

For The First Time In Forever just had a few votes bringing it down a lot after it received 6 out of a possible 20 10's. 20 and 19 are where they should be, would have liked Lana higher and you've got a friend in me should have been way higher
