In this wartime drama, bored widow Laura Henderson (Judi Dench) buys Soho's rundown Windmill Theatre and keeps its scandalous sexy show running in defiance of the german bombs. Bob Hoskins co-stars in a tale of true brit.

Affectionate and amusing, this is a portrait of London's Windnill Theatre that boasted nude women (as long as they didn't move) and a reputation for never closing no matter how bad the Blitz. Judi Dench is on splendid form as the widow who buys the theatre and installs an equally excallent Bob Hoskins as its manager. Will Young also appears and - after his nude scene - claimed that although it wasn't a big part, Dame Judi said she was impressed!

 

 

 

 

 

The Vortex

From 17th January to 10th March 2007, Will plays Nicky Lancaster in the Noel Coward play at the The Royal Exchange Theatre.
