Was never overly fond of either of those. I preferred The Time Is Now and Mambo Italiano respectively!

103 Fatboy Slim feat. Camille Yarbrough 'Praise You' (45)

NEW ENTRY

i wanna praise you like i should -> Jade (18)

He has better in his collection (2 example being Right Here Right Now and Gangster Trippin) but this is pretty good too. Not a big fan of the trip-hop genre though so I was never gonna properly love this. The vocalist isn't the best either, although I guess re-recording the sample defeats the point of him sampling someone.

102 Calvin Harris 'Acceptable In The 80s' (45)

NEW ENTRY

it was acceptable in the 80s -> Jade (16)

I wasn't even born in the 80s but this song is amazing. What a good song to break out with too, even if it sounds so different to his newer stuff. I never thought he'd get so big, but yeah he's now the richest DJ beating the likes of Tiesto, Daft Punk and David Guetta.

101 Krewella 'Alive' (46)

NEW ENTRY

come on make me feel alive -> Ryan. (17)

The second and final Krewella entry, and I'm sure resident Krewella fan Ryan will be disappointed that they just missed out on the top 100, but don't worry because there's 4 Cascada entries top 100! Anyhow as I said earlier this is the one Krewella song I actually love, it's really upbeat and everything a commercialised progressive house song should sound like. So of course it flops in the UK :drama:

100 Cascada 'Miracle' (46)

DOWN 19 {81-100}

i need a miracle -> Ultraviolence (17)

From the 2010s version of Cascada to actual Cascada, my opinion of this song still hasn't changed from last year. The lyrics aren't that great and the instrumental is so Everytime We Touch part 2 it hurts. What a poor start to the top 100. :(

I'm pretty sure Miracle was produced before Everytime We Touch, so I guess that was Miracle 2.0 :lol:

Weirdly it was the only Cascada song that AATW didn't have the rights to, hence it was released by some Ministry of Sound offshoot in the UK and didn't make it onto their UK best of which was packaged with Original Me :drama:

I always assumed Miracle was after Everytime We Touch because it was released ages after EWT! :lol:

Everytime We Touch is still much better though, the lyrics are better and the drop doesn't sound as cheap and generic as Miracle

Only in the UK. Although I do agree with you that EWT is far better.

Ooh yay 'Praise You' & 'Acceptable In The 80s' :wub:

The former is pretty much a dance classic already and the latter is just so quirky and infectious. Great stuff. :wub:

BTW WTF is with Yeah Yeah being that LOW :o :nono:

Such an iconic song!!!!

99 The Prodigy 'Firestarter' (46)

DOWN 12 {87-99}

umma firestarta, twistid firestarta -> 7Seize (18)

The second of four The Prodigy entries, and this one doesn't change its position much from last year, with a few fans of the song voting for it. 6 to be exact. Anyhow this is their most well known song and it helped set their rebellious image for their The Fat of The Land era, which also gave us the great Breathe and Smack My Bitch Up. One of my favourites from them but it's not their best and you all seem to agree, with the song finishing 4th in the recent The Prodigy rate, and it is the 3rd highest song of theirs in this countdown.

98 Sunblock 'I'll Be Ready' (48)

NEW ENTRY

i'll be ready -> JSG (19)

From the mid-90s to the mid-00s, this was part of the explosion of 80s-sampling dance hits, and it's one of the best of them, although I didn't vote for it. At the time I considered it one of the best dance songs, but new songs came out and I discovered older ones that are better. Nice to see some appreciation for this though.

97 Mason vs. Princess Superstar 'Perfect (Exceeder)' (48)

DOWN 47 {50-97}

watch me work it, I'm perfect -> Iz (14)

Last year this finished last in the final, so it's not much of a surprise to see this fail to qualify this year. It's still top 100 though which is good news. It's a similar story to Yeah Yeah, electro-house song gets fierce female rapper to improve it. And it makes for a really good tune which was a big UK hit and also got major loving from myself.

96 Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine 'Doctor Pressure' (48)

DOWN 17 {79-96}

won't you help me doctor beat? -> AH Gold (13)

Another mid-00s electro-house tune! I'd love a revival of this type of dance tbh, all the popular electro-house songs these days are big room. With a vocal taken straight from the 80s, the up to date production really suits it and makes it sound so fresh

95 Mr. Oizo 'Flat Beat' (49)

NEW ENTRY

flat beat -> Ethan (19)

Taken from 1999, this was one of the most unlikely #1s of the year in terms of how it sounds (obviously with it being on the commercial it must've been a predictable #1). A nice taste of early electro house and I love the wobble in this.

94 Alexandra Stan 'Mr. Saxobeat' (49)

DOWN 54 {40-94}

make me move like a freak, mr saxobeat -> Ultraviolence (14)

Alexandra Stan out-did Inna's efforts to make a great Romanian dance song, a trend which lasted for a short time but at least we got some good songs out of it. Like this one, which is really catchy and is responsible for bringing the SAX to commercial dance music. Rudimental, Klingande and Faul & Wad Ad bow down.

93 Lasgo 'Something' (51)

DOWN 9 {84-93}

i can see it in your eyes, there's something -> Doug (16)

This is nice, especially the intro which sounds like a synth is bouncing.

92 Technotronic feat. Felly 'Pump Up The Jam' (51)

NEW ENTRY

pump up the jam -> Harve (20)

This sounds very 90s but it was actually released in 1989. Yes, that makes it 25 years old. *all the Vidcappers, Jesters and Suedeheads feel old again* It's a fun record though and I wouldn't be surprised if this set the trend for other big 90s hits.

Pump Up The Jam is pretty great, it's included in one of my favourite spotify playlists that I play frequently. Shame it's not a little bit higher. No other big losses in this batch for me really. Mr Saxobeat is lots of fun though!

Love mr saxobeat. Deserves to be way higher

It was top 40 when I hosted this last year actually :o It must've tired on some people, or fans of it from last year haven't voted this time around.

Lasgo - Something is one of the best dance tracks ever!

Edited by JSG

I love "Greyhound"! I also voted for it. It always gave me goosebumps when I listened to it at the gum two years ago. "Freestyler" is iconic. I remember that many teenagers had the same haircut 14 years ago.

91 Martin Garrix 'Animals' (52)

NEW ENTRY

we're the f*cking animals -> Jason (17)

What an iconic tune. It was fully responsible for making Martin Garrix a big name in big room house, and many tried to copy the style of this off the back of its success. It's just a brilliant song which manages to stand out with its sounds and big bass drop.

90 Boogie Pimps vs. Jefferson Airplane 'Somebody To Love' (52)

NEW ENTRY

don't you want somebody to love -> JSG (18)

This is quite good, a nice reworking of the Jefferson Airplane song which was a #3 hit in 2004. One of my favourites at the time but I don't listen to it often now.

89 The Shamen 'Ebeneezer Goode' (53)

NEW ENTRY

he's ebeneezer goode -> Iz (19)

okay song here, I don't find it special and the singing in the chorus isn't particularly good.

88 Fedde Le Grand 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' (53)

NEW ENTRY

put your hands up for detroit -> JSG, Ethan (12)

Firstly, yaaaaaay at Buzzjack putting this top 100 this year. It was my favourite song of 2006. The electro-synth melody is so good and well, that's all there is to the song but that's not a bad thing at all.
