Thanks for posting that, Brian  Over 50 years since Elvis first released a record and 29 years after his death, Elvis is still the main man :cheer:

I think back to those 5 months last year when we were queuing up outside record shops to get our hands on the 18#1 Elvis singles. It really was amazing how well they did considering the lack of availability on the week they were released  But thankfully, I managed to get my hands on all 18 numbered singles :D

Pity about this record though

Bet it was pretty cold some days :D

It sure was, but it was fun to see the looks on peoples faces when they saw the queues outside HMV at 7.30 in the morning  They even had to start issuing numbered tickets cos they had so few in stock :o Apparently there were even fights in some stores in the early weeks as people were grabbing as many as they could  By 9am, they were on ebay

Not yours though I bet, I'm sure they're a treasured possession.

Did they have any special number sequence or anything?

No way, don't care if they're only worth what I paid for them, I'll never part with them.

Think it was originally 30,000 of each released, although they later increased the number and eventually added non numbered releases. However, it was a bit of a c**k up (can I say that :o  ) in terms of distribution. For instance, the large Virgin in Birmingham might have received just 20 CDs and 30 vinyls of one single to sell on the day of release :o It was crazy times, but it was great to share our experiences in the 18s site

My lowest number was 551 for Are You Lonesome Tonight

you never know maybe when you're old enough to collect your pension for real they might be worth something

May be, be my legacy

Actually, my prized possession, Elvis wise, is a limited edition gold disc of 'If I Can Dream', that I brought back from Memphis and is hanging on the wall in my living room :D It's the 30th Anniversary of the '68 Comeback Special and they only produced 1968 copies  It never left my side all the way back on the plane
