Posted August 9, 201410 yr So we all know by now that What Are You Waiting For? is likely to take quite a big hit due to steaming. So let's see what we can do to help them out. Rules: 1) 1 Stream = 100th of a sale. 2) Each streaming account = streams per song capped at 10 per day. 3) Different versions count, but I'm pretty sure only 10 streaming sales per song can be counted a day even if play 10 of the remix and 10 of the single (not 100% on this) 4) Streams from free accounts count. 5) Streams must play for AT LEAST 30 seconds before being skipped to count. So the three main streaming sites are: Spotify - https://www.spotify.com/uk/ - This is the big cheese of streaming and where most streams come from. But no streaming site is more important than any other. You can download this on your smartphone, computer or just use the web player. All of it counts. Deezer http://www.deezer.com/en/ - There is a mobile app and web player for this Napster - www.napster.co.uk - There is a mobile app and web player for this, also. There are a few more but these are the ones I'm most familiar with. Most of these sites have limited access for free streaming. But all three accounts allow you to sign up for a free 1-month trial. Which you can cancel at any time. So, what I've done is gotten a one-month trial for each of these. And am going to play WAYWF 10 times per-day over the next week (or month, if I can be arsed). That will only get me 2.10 sales per week, but it's easy, free sales, and if we all do it, it will make all the difference. It'll also help them climb the streaming charts, which will get the song noticed. Let me know if I've left anything out or if you have any questions. WAYWF on Spotify WAYWF on Deezer WAYWF on Napster WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Get streaming. Edited August 10, 201410 yr by Joe.
August 9, 201410 yr Author What are the guidelines for Youtube streaming? None. It doesn't count here.
August 9, 201410 yr What are the guidelines for Youtube streaming? Youtube doesn't count, it does in America but not here, only services like Spotify do count!
August 9, 201410 yr That's ridiculous. By the time WAYWF gets put on spotify hardly anyone will stream it on that because more would use Youtube. SO not impressed -_-
August 9, 201410 yr Being a fan outside the UK is so frustrating because you can't do anything at all, besides existing :drama:
August 9, 201410 yr Just playing the song for the first time on itunes! Will deffo play it lots this week.
August 9, 201410 yr Author I've downloaded it on iTunes, but will be too busy listening to it on Deezer, Spotify and Napster to listen to it on iTunes. I'll edited the first post with links to the song to steam to make it easier for you all. Spotify link adding now. Edited August 10, 201410 yr by Joe.
August 10, 201410 yr Just like Not Giving Up, the single version doesn't appear on Spotify unless you search for it. Not ideal.
August 10, 201410 yr Tbh, I'm just going to have it on repeat every day putting my speakers at mute :kink:
August 10, 201410 yr Author Deezer link added (There's no single version, odd. I'm just streaming the Luvbug mix instead) 15 official streams from me now!
August 10, 201410 yr Author I've got the single version! Go ahead and edit my post and change he link, I can't find it anywhere on deezer! (Or napster yet)
August 10, 201410 yr I think in the case of remixes they do count as buying a remix counts. Any I made a spotify playlist with 8 versions and played it overnight so I've either guaranteed 10 listens or 80 lol
August 10, 201410 yr I've done 10 streams on each site today. I just used another email address to set up another Spotify account so I hope they are recognised :)
