im not sure tbh, they play the spanish video, so im assuming they'd play the spanish single, but mabye they will play the spanglish so its not totally foreign for people :unsure:

Radio 1 might pick this up - they played Gasolina a lot and La Tortura is much more radio friendly than Gasolina.

 

If Radio 1 don't play this, I doubt many other places will. If Radio 1 play this, they could make it big like Paris to Berlin.

 

BTW, how has The Box confirmed this is the next single?

A NO.1 from my chart last year=a fantastic song-I hope its huge-this is one of her four career defining singles and the UK deserve to hear it :-)

theres a show on it called Kapooka Hot, and they played the song and at the end the presenter [who happens to be a pig] said ' And thats Shakira's brand new signle, and it's called La Tortura'

The video is fantastic and as quirky as you'd expect from Shakira...

 

Apart from the fact that she is dancing in oil there is a great scene where she is crying only to reveal that the reason that she is crying is because she is chopping onions lol!!!

this is a risky release but a brave one, sony uk must be really confident if they are planning to release an all spanish track they saw how well HDL did and it had spanish in it so they might be thinking la tortura will be embraced by the UK public aswell but i don't know i think top 10

 

top 5 if shakira comes to the Uk to do promo, still the problem with airplay though i can't see many radio stations playing it, can she get a hit again without radio1 playing her? its always a struggle with shakira in the UK! xtina, beyonce, madonna, nelly have it easy A listed all the time on radio 1 but not shakira why you fu**ers at radio1 why!!??

I am very excited that La Tortura is getting a UK release as it is my favourite shakira single, it does take a few listens to start to like as it isn't in english but it is by far her best sinlge..hopefully radio/tv will pick it up and she will hopefully come over and do as much promo as she can... i just can't see the scruffy chavs liking it..it's too cultural.

It should go to number 1 as it is her best but i'm hoping for top 5...it must be top 10 at least.. surely shakira fans can grant it that place? If it flops it shouldn't damage her career here as it is a risk.. i just hope that it can chart well :(

Doubt this'll do well, since it's all in Spanish (and that's not an ignorent comment, I just can't see it doing well because of that very fact...I don't think it's that bad)...I'll say #30-ish.
