01| Britney Spears - 891 points (08-05-03-01)

After constantly improving every year, Britney Spears finally reaches the top spot and is your Ultimate Pop Female 2014! Since the 2012 chart, Britney released her eighth studio album towards the end of last year titled 'Britney Jean' and was preceded by lead single 'Work Bitch'. The album wasn't as successful as Britney's previous albums but still went top 5 in the US and top 40 in the UK during the busy Christmas period. 'Work Bitch' fared much better in the UK by reaching the top 10 and just missed out on a top 10 peak in the US. Follow-up single 'Perfume' failed to chart in the UK but had some success in other countries. Despite this, Britney Spears is one of the biggest popstars of all-time and fully deserves the achievement of being the Ultimate Pop Female of 2014. Well done Britney!

About TIME! That was without me even voting too (completely forgot to :()
I think EVERYONE completely forgot to so you guys should feel bad. You better make her hold on next year!
Wow, really surprised since I thought BJ in general stanned harder for other females.
Obviously I agree with the choice but I just want one more amazing album filled with iconic pop classics that cements her as the ultimate pop star of the 21st century. Not much to ask I know !

Well, she only has one!

ITZ.

Britney had Slave 4 U though and NAGNYAW and ILRR to help but it wouldn't cement her status.

I think it's safe to say Britney's first ten years of her career have already cemented her as a pop icon. I mean she is closing in on the second decade of her career and she still receives moderate success on her name alone.

Britney hasn't taken the time to PROPERLY promote any of her projects since 2004, and she can still score a top ten hit in the UK with a lead single and securely get a top 4 album in the US without doing anything besides popping out a music video while that album received mostly negative reviews. Not to mention she has sold out every show in Vegas since it launched last year.

Michael, you may not like a lot of her material in the past decade, but to deny that she has still been a success after 2004 is just not true. If anything her downfall along with Blackout and her comeback along with Circus in 2008 cemented her name in pop music history, if 1998-2005 did not do that already.

Though, I agree with Nick. If she were to come out with one more killer album (which I think FF is one of her best) and promote just 3-4 good singles, there would be no denying that Britney Spears is one of the biggest things to happen to pop music since Madonna. And the only other artist to change and landscape the pop scene to her level is Gaga. But, if we were to compare where Britney was with her third full album (comparing to artpop) Britney was more consistent with popping out hit after hit, and the GP eating it up... With In The Zone still to come.

Not to mention all of her iconic performances. Including being the only pop contemporary to perform with Madonna and Michael Jackson.

Along with:

1999: BOMT performance with N Sync

1999: BOMT Kids Choice Awards Performance (iconic in America at least)

1999: BOMT/ Crazy EMA performance (even huge in America)

2000: Oops VMA performance

2001: Slave 4 U VMA performance

2002: performing "The Way You Make Me Feel" with MJ

2002: performing with Aerosmith and n sync at the Super Bowl

2003: Madonna Kiss VMAS

2003: Her concert series with ABC was there most watched television event for that year) and birthed this:

2004: Toxic NRJ (debate able)

2007: Gimme More VMAS

2008: Her comeback performance for Womanizer/Circus was the most watched concert series of all time. Not iconic but STILL, 10 years later...

I think I'm just getting over excited and assuming that the fact she's in the best shape she's been in for ages means she may be working on the best campaign for ages! Not that Blackout/Circus/FF/BJ didn't have fantastic music I just would kill to see a whole heavily promoted era to see Brit take over the industry once more. #MadonnaCouldNevah
