This is it exactly. I only listen to what Cowell tells me too. I certainly don't dislike Janet and her music because she has a poisonous personality and a voice that could cut diamonds.

This post is everything that's wrong with people who aren't X Factor fans. They go on "real music" rants and say that liking any of the big Syco success stories from the show aren't worth it compared to those who make "real music". It's just snobbery. And I'm saying this as a Janet fan, I like the track and her album is a nice listen. She's got a fantastic voice too. Despite that, I also enjoy a lot of the "cheap noises Cowell feeds" me ^_^

Because calling a woman artist a whore as a term of abuse is no better than calling a black artist a 'N' as a 'joke' term of abuse.

X Factor has spawned so many different sounds, you can't put it all in one box. I've only ever bought XF albums by Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson. They were to my taste whereas the majority of XF is not. You can't discredit it all particularly since Janet came from there.

 

And her failings on XF had nothing to do with other acts on the show.
