Are You Disappointed that up to now only one song actually from the fantastic original OF2 has been released? ... but this will mean the uk will get 5 releases? coz other places need a song after illegal :D

i dont mind as it just boosts sales and popularity for shakira.

 

the next single will probably be illegal, so if we do get a 5th, i think it would probably be animal city anyway.

I'm not too bothered. I know we'll get the original OF2 songs sooner or later. HDL was a necesity after the flop of DB and OF2. La Tortura is just being used as a tool in the UK untill they can release an OF2 single.

i don't mind the UK is her toughest market she/sony needs songs to attract the public to get aka 'trick' them into buying an eclectic uncommercial album cause they are in for a shock there aren't other HDL type tracks on OF2 it is the exception not the rule, sony wish shakira can deliver an album full of HDL and UYC type tracks so it can sell sell sell but they can't control shakira creatively

Absolutely not. I personally don't think that any of the songs in Oral Fixation Vol. 2 are commercial enough to be a single (in the terms of "to reach a good chart position") but I do believe it's a fantastic album so, if any single (be it HDL or LT) make people buy it and hear How Do you do, for instance, then great!

Exactly, there aren't really any commercial songs that have the potential to be released like there was with LS. Even the ballads on OF2 are pretty unconventional.

 

What I am disappointed about is that we've had 2 CD's out in the last year and three months and only had 5 singles between them. With LS we there were 8 releases within a year from just one CD.

the pace has slowed down that could be due to shakira taking greater control about the promo she is supposed to do and not wanting to be 'worked like a dog' as she puts it in the LS era, it is unusual compared to sony's other A list artist beyonce who now seems to be releasing 3 song in 3 months

 

even a tour right bang in the middle of promoting an album (starting as the 2nd single is out) is unconventional its usually happens 3/4 in or at the end but some songs have had longevity that streched months like LT and HDL and shakira may be itching to perform live after she finished promo duties for FO1
