any songs bought/downloaded on Sunday are added to the next week's chart

I've been in Woolworths at about 3pm on a Sunday before when I worked there for a while and we put all the singles for the next week up ready including the new releases.

what happens to all of the sunday sales after the chart has been shown?

I believe all Sunday sales goes to the following week. Not just after the chart has been announced.

Yeah I'm sure that all of Sunday's sales will go to the next chart. When Bruno Brookes used to do the chart on Radio 1, he used to say that midnight Saturday was the cut off. Of course that probably wasn't the case back then as the supermarkets didn't do 24hrs. Although that seems the logical time to cut off now.

OCC compile the chart on Sunday mornings and release the data to the BBC, Hit40UK, MW etc at around 1pm on Sunday. Other media outlets that get the data in the early afternoon will be under an embargo until at least 7pm on Sunday after the chart has been announced.

Not really because not many songs are bought on a sunday physically - I'd say its the worst day of the week for sales and the majority of songs will be avaliable on download these days anyway before the physical release anyway.
