"It's been a LONG road, getting from there to here;

It's been a LONG time, but my TIME is FINALLY HERE"

It's been a long 37 contests in the making, but victory is finally ours. It is with the greatest of pleasure we welcome you all (well, Persephonia not so much) to the historic city of Darpabrak, capital of Altyr Muunilinst.

Over the next few weeks we will take immense pleasure in hosting the 70th edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest. We will not, however, be doing so alone, plans are underway to make this edition one to remember. But we were never going to make this anything other than a GAUDY SPECTACLE of hyperbole and excess.

Dates/times/stuff will be revealed as and when appropriate. That time is not now.

SPECULATE WILDLY as to what all of this may mean for you, the citizens of lesser nations.

Thank god for that, Kylienips need a week to recover :drama:

Got a great lil dance tune which I might send but I might send something a bit more festive, eh, I'll see.

The Persephonian BJSC Committee has announced plans to boycott BJSC LXX in moral objection to the host nation, whose leader is accused of corruption, human rights violations and war crimes including a genocide against the natives of the country's central wilderness. Also speeding.

The country will still participate in the contest but under the guidance of the remains of the Egabbaci BJSC Committee who, still being stuck in 2009, have access to a singer who has been dead for several years and will be representing us this month. Out of safety concerns (regarding air pollution and police brutality in Darpabrak) the Egabbaci entourage will be staying in neighbouring Yehesi.

That aside I am going FULL EGABBAC with a classique from 2009 that would fit nicely with my early entries (except will hopefully do a bit better).

After a flop 17th place finish in the semi-final, ending our Q streak, Terra di Campioni is ready and back on form, eager to deliver a dose of what might as well be 80's electro, funk-pop perfection!

Excitement!

looking forward to your hosting John I'm sure it'll be great

I have an entry lined up and ready to slay so hopefully confirmations open this weekend :cheer:

I am currently dilemma-ing over what would be the best entry to get me back in the final, I have a couple of options and I'm not SET on anything right now. Just a little bit tempted to go with something that'd make me look desperate for a finalist, which is definitely not true.

Other than that, I'm very much looking forward to a holiday in Altyr Muunilinst.

MY SONG WILL HIT YOU SO HARD OUT OF NOWHERE.

I second what Bal says, In honour of the host I will yet again be going uninspired.

Not too sure what to do for this one, like genre wise. I have found a slow - folky song that is stunning and has a great message, but it might be to bland for you guys
Lol just realised you spelled your own country's name wrong TWICE in the opening post John. Poor effort.

Just keeping you on your toes Bre. Wouldn't want you to get complacent and take a nasty SLIP down a flight of gorgeously designed marble stairs to your DOOM.

Hey I was going to mention it too when I first saw the Green Room but I forgot once actually posting

I'll settle for the silver medal.

I've got a Benny Benassi-esque sounding track up my sleeve :cheer:
