Posted October 30, 201410 yr Obviously I am only starting the countdown after my final 2014 top 200 is finalised, but I thought I could publish the page now (two months in advance), that way, I can just start publishing the top 200 without having to create this page first. However, since I don't want to leave this page lying in the dust for two months, I'll be adding a bit of this, a bit of that, every once in a while. Edited August 3, 20177 yr by T83:Y96

October 30, 201410 yr Just to check, will you be 'mirroring' what you post on BJ (chart wise) on the UKCAW as well?
November 5, 201410 yr Author Songs who were in the top 100 last year that I now regret having placed as high as I did, having them in my top 100 of 2013 or even that I dislike now: 11. Smash Mouth - All Star (1998) (shouldn't have been as high) 22. Sam Bailey - Skyscraper (probably should have been lower) 76. Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know (probably shouldn't have made the top 100 in the first place) 80. Drake feat. Majid Jordan - Hold On, We're Going Home (maybe should have been a few places lower) 83. One Direction - Best Song Ever (hasn't stood the test of time at all (and that's only one year!)) 84. Katy Perry - Roar (overplayed, just generic now) 85. Sean Paul - Other Side Of Love (maybe at the outskirts of the top 100, but 85 seems a bit too high for it now) 89. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (should have been a few places lower, maybe out of the top 100)
November 19, 201410 yr Author Will you ever post a sole year only chart? Well it wouldn't be completely relevant then would it!
December 1, 201410 yr Author Why not? Because it is possible that in a given year I like a song that isn't from that year more than a song that is. And, considering that out of my top 100 of 2014, only 41 songs are actually from 2014, it would give the impression that I like a song more than I do (Last Night, #94 on my top 100, would be #41 if non-2014 songs weren't included.)
December 28, 201410 yr Author Best Albums of 2014 Note: This list only included albums to which I have heard every single song.
December 28, 201410 yr Author #6: Dream Your Life Away by Vance Joy Songs: 14 Favourite track: Riptide Other memorable tracks: From Afar I had high expectations for this album, considering that Riptide is very high in my top 200 songs. However, I cannot remember how any track on the album goes, bar Riptide and From Afar, obviously. Rating: 5/10
December 28, 201410 yr Author #5: New Eyes by Clean Bandit Songs: 13 (17 on Special Edition) Favourite track: Rather Be Other memorable tracks: Extraordinary, Real Love (special edition), Mozart's House, Come Over This was the first album of 2014 which I heard entirely, and I wasn't disappointed. Granted, there are a few forgettable tracks, but there are more songs that I can remember on New Eyes than on Dream Your Life Away. Rating: 7,5/10
December 28, 201410 yr Author #4: Motion by Calvin Harris Songs: 15 Favourite track: Under Control Other memorable tracks: Outside, Pray To God, Summer, Faith I was hesitant to listen to this album after Blame came out, but I did anyway and I thought the album was very good. Standouts include the five songs listed above. Rating: 8,5/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits by The Saturdays Songs: 20 Favourite track: All Fired Up Other memorable tracks: all of them, bar If This Is Love, Just Can't Get Enough, Forever Is Over and Walking Through the Desert. Now, greatest hits albums are ineligible for the countdown, but I couldn't go without mentioning Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits. If it had been eligible for this countdown, it would have ranked fourth. My ranking of The Saturdays singles:1. All Fired Up2. Disco Love3. What About Us?4. Higher (without Flo Rida)5. What Are You Waiting For?6. Notorious7. Not Giving Up8. Work9. Missing You10. Ego11. 30 Days12. Up13. My Heart Takes Over14. Gentleman15. Issues16. Forever Is Over17. If This Is Love18. Just Can't Get Enough I love all of their singles, except Forever Is Over, If This Is Love and Just Can't Get Enough. Issues and Gentleman aren't very good either, though. Rating: 9,5/10
December 29, 201410 yr Author #3: In The Lonely Hour by Sam Smith Songs: 10 (14 on deluxe) Favourite track: Stay With Me Other memorable tracks: I'm Not The Only One, Money On My Mind, Like I Can, Life Support | Latch, La La La (deluxe) A great debut album. However, I expect this to replicate the 21/Our Version of Events situation with X, where both stayed in the top 5/10/40 albums for way too long, but I will only get annoyed by X. Rating: 10/10 Edited December 29, 201410 yr by Taylor Jago
December 29, 201410 yr Author #2: Glorious by Foxes Songs: 11 (16 on deluxe) Favourite track: Let Go For Tonight Other memorable tracks: Holding Onto Heaven, Count The Saints, Youth, Talking To Ghosts, Glorious, Night Glo, Night Owls Early Birds, | Clarity (Live) (deluxe) I cannot tell you how hard it was for me to rank Glorious and number #1. I think I love both albums evenly, but in the end this ranked second. 3 songs on this album are in my top 40 of the year, and 7 are in the top 200. On the number one album, there are 2 songs in the top 40, 3 songs in the top 100, and 15 songs in the top 200. However, this is a very under-rated album, which dropped out of the charts way too quickly. Rating 10/10 Edited January 1, 201510 yr by Taylor Jago
December 29, 201410 yr Author #1: Chapter One by Ella Henderson Songs: 13 (18 on deluxe) Favourite track: Ghost Other memorable tracks: Mirror Man, Yours, Glow, Give Your Heart Away, All Again, Pieces, Empire, Billie Holiday, The First Time, Lay Down, Beautifully Unfinished, Missed, Rockets, Hard Work, Five Tattoos and 1996 (basically, all of them) When I listened to this album, I did not expect to be good as good as it is. I enjoyed every single song. In hindsight, while I thought it was a disgrace that she didn't make the final of the X Factor in 2012, I think it's better off this way, since had she won, she would have had to make her first album quickly to release it around November 2013 (which would have meant that she probably wouldn't been able to make it as stellar as Chapter One is). An album well worth the wait. Rating: 10/10 (I can't go higher, unfortunately)
January 1, 201510 yr Author #200: To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra QB0ordd2nOI Year of release: 2008 Peak (uk charts): n/a (Position in the year-end) 2013: #21 Sorry by the way for not starting the countdown last night as indicated, I went to the party and we left earlier than I expected. January 1, 201510 yr Wonder is a good song and will make my 2012 chart, and prefer it to Lifted. Sande does well in it :) On My Way I only just discovered last year (2014) and it's a great song :D I'm not sure if I have heard TBAH before but I might listen to it :P If your'e posting the top 200 singles single-postly when will it finish/how many will you post each day?
