January 20, 201510 yr Author #100: Out Of My Head (Club Edit) by John Newman BFxKFyJxevY Year of release: 2013 Peak: #91 The fourth single from John Newman's debut album Tribute, originally a ballad, this was remixed by Sub Focus (who will be appearing later) and controversially appeared on Now That's What I Call Music! 87 when Rather Be (which will also appear later) didn't. However, what this (and Rudimental's "Feel The Love" and "Not Giving In") prove is that it's not always the big names that produce the best results...
January 21, 201510 yr Author #99: If You Could See Me Now by The Script SGlkwKA-t_4 Year of release: 2012 Peak: #20 2013: #3 The third single from The Script's third album #3, If You Could See Me Now peaked at #20 and spent 11 weeks in the top 40. Afire Love, I think, has a similar story.
January 21, 201510 yr Author #98: Rhythm Is A Dancer by Snap! JYIaWeVL1JM Year of release: 1992 Peak: #1 A 1990s classic, Rhythm Is A Dancer was the second-best selling single of 1992, behind Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You". However, it ended up the 86th best-selling single of the 1990s (yes, 1992 was a pretty weak year, compared to 1999, where Better Off Alone was the 14th best-selling single but the 80th best-selling sle of the 1990s, therefore outselling this). Anyway, this has had a revival recently, having being covered and mashed-up with Corona "The Rhythm Of The Night" by Bastille in "Of The Night" and its' lyrics being used in "Don't Tell 'Em" by Jeremih feat. YG.
January 21, 201510 yr Author #97: Wings by Birdy WJTXDCh2YiA Year of release: 2013 Peak: #16 The first sinjgle from Birdy's second album, Fire Within, Wings peaked higher than Skinny Love. However, it dropped off quickly.
January 21, 201510 yr Author #96: All Of Me by John Legend 450p7goxZqg Year of release: 2013 Peak: #2 One of the most overplayed songs possibly of all-time, All Of Me stayed in the top 40 for a very long time (though Thinking Out Loud seems like it's been around forever). It got annoying for me by the end of the year, so it's very lucky not to have dropped out.
January 21, 201510 yr  I thought you like to base your ranking on chart overplayment? #Sing #TOL #Blame etc. Still, the song itself is OK but nowhere near what the chart makes it out to be :drama: Edited January 21, 201510 yr by SPINUMINATI ADAM
January 22, 201510 yr Author #95: When She Was Mine by Lawson GmQRAXJoHg0 Year of release: 2012 Peak: #4 Lawson's debut single, after dropping 20 places on its second week, managed to hold not too badly, managing 9 weeks in the top 100.
January 22, 201510 yr Author #94: Move by Little Mix RwD4eJGxPc4 Year of release: 2013 Peak: #3 2013: #41 It's a shame really that Little Mix has failed to get a number one since Wings in August 2012. Their second album was brillant!
January 22, 201510 yr Author #93: Money On My Mind by Sam Smith K0G9T5Bnjlc Year of release: 2014 Peak: #1 Sam Smith's first solo #1, Money On My Mind was in the top 30 best-sellers of 2014, along with Stay With Me and I'm Not The Only One, both of which will be appearing later.
January 22, 201510 yr Author #92: Another Love by Tom Odell e-aaencD-dY Year of release: 2012 Peak: #10 2013: #44 The first ever male winner of the BRITs Critics Choice, his debut album got to #1. This made the top 10, and was later outpeaked by his cover of John Lennon's Real Love, which peaked at 7.
January 22, 201510 yr Author #91: Hey Now by London Grammar nMEHJPuggHQ Year of release: 2013 Peak: #37 Despite only reaching #37, this appeared on Now That's What I Call Music! 87. And quick fact: every single song on the second disc of Now 87 from song 16 to song 24 is in the top 100. (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23 and 24 are appearing later)

January 22, 201510 yr Author Question: Which would you say was the most successful: Rhythm Is A Dancer (6 weeks at number one) or All Of Me (19 weeks in the top 10)
January 22, 201510 yr Question: Which would you say was the most successful: Rhythm Is A Dancer (6 weeks at number one) or All Of Me (19 weeks in the top 10) Hard to say really. I mostly base success on sales rather than lucky positions in a chart rank. Yes RIAD sold more than AOM in a week but AOM did keep selling 10s of thousands of k for weeks more than RIAD. So they are pretty much both successful but in different ways depending on which way you look at it
January 23, 201510 yr Author #90: Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra gTciUaOm3h4 Year of release: 1977 Peak: #6 My favourite Electric Light Orchestra song (and one of my favourite songs of all-time).
January 25, 201510 yr Author #89: Explosions by Ellie Goulding miOEmyjpLkU Year of release: 2012 Peak: #13 2013: #59 This had a quite long chart run after being used excessively by ITV in their Where Drama Lives advert (they would use What Now by Rihanna in 2014). It spent 10 weeks in the top 40.
