#39: Love Runs Out by OneRepublic

Year of release: 2014

Peak: #3

This was apparently going to be the first single from Native, but Ryan Tedder couldn't finish the chorus. "And you can't have a song without a chorus." he said. You can, actually. Simply do more or less the same line 24 times over, give it a title which is never said in the song, and you have a song without a chorus. A crap song yes, but still a song. And a number one single for two weeks, despite having far more deserving of the top spot competition in Won't Look Back and Superheroes for the second week at number one.

#38: Ready For Your Love by Gorgon City featuring MNEK

Year of release: 2014

Peak: #4

Gorgon City's first top 40 hit, this was the 59th biggest song of 2014. Unfortunately follow-ups Here For You, Unmissable and Go All Night all failed to replicate its success.

Ella Eyre's second top 20 as a lead artist, Comeback unfortunately missed the top 10 due to streaming.

#35: I Will Never Let You Down by Rita Ora

Year of release: 2014

Peak: #1

With this song Rita Ora tied Geri Halliwell for most number one singles by a British female (though they have since been surpassed by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini).

#34: All Fired Up by The Saturdays

Year of release: 2011

Peak: #3

2011: #14

The Saturdays's best single, All Fired Up peaked at 3 behind Moves Like Jagger and All About Tonight by Pixie Lott (ironically, Frankie Birdge from the Saturdays and Pixie Lott also competed in the recent series of Strictly Come Dancing, although this time Pixie came 6th and Frankie 2nd).

#33: Count The Saints by Foxes

Year of release: 2014

Peak: N/A

An album track (in fact the highest in the countdown, not counting Mirror Man which is about to become a single anyway) from Foxes's glorious debut album Glorious.

#32: Not Giving Up by The Saturdays

Year of release: 2013

Peak: #19

I listened to this a lot when it was released, then kinda forgot about it during the summer, and got back into it in the build-up to the school run (in which I came 86th out of 149).

#30: These Days by Take That

Year of release: 2014

Peak: #1

Showing just how badly Do They Know It's Christmas? (2014) did, despite sales of under 65,000 copies These Days nabbed Take That their 12th number one ahead of it in the former's second week, serving justice, as this is much better than the fourth version of DTKIC.

#29: Happy by Pharrell Williams

Year of release: 2013

Peak: #1

2013: #23

One massive hit (Get Lucky) wasn't enough, so a second (Blurred Lines) came up. So a third Pharrell Williams million-seller arrived: Happy, from the animated film Despicable Me 2 (and his band N.E.R.D. did a song for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water, so he just might be wanting to repeat the formula for this, though it's not going anywhere right now.)

#25: Hall Of Fame by The Script featuring will.i.am.

Year of release: 2012

Peak: #1

2012: #3

2013: #9

The Script's first number one, this unfortunately attracted a lot of hate on the site. Honestly, I don't get this Script vendetta (or the Something I Need vendetta either), especially considering that what knocked this off number one is the worst song of all-time.

#24: Don't You Want Me by The Human League

Year of release: 1981

Peak: #1

One of the biggest-selling singles ever (and the third best-selling in the countdown), Don't You Want Me re-entered the top 20 in April after a campaign by a football club.
