Wonder is a good song and will make my 2012 chart, and prefer it to Lifted. Sande does well in it :)

On My Way I only just discovered last year (2014) and it's a great song :D

I'm not sure if I have heard TBAH before but I might listen to it :P

If your'e posting the top 200 singles single-postly when will it finish/how many will you post each day?

I have absolutely no idea, but I hope I'll be done by the end of February (because by then I'll be probably be focusing on 2015).

#196: Latch by Disclosure featuring Sam Smith

Year of release: 2012

Peak: 11

So this was the debut single for Disclosure and Sam Smith, at a time where he wasn't all over the chart. And quite a good video, compared to the one for To Build A Home, which is probably the most boring video I have ever seen.

#195: Moving On Up by M People

Year of release: 1992

Peak: #2

I discovered this with Now That's What I Call Feel Good!, which came out in March.

I adore those top 2 albums and I am so glad I got physical CD's of both of them for Christmas  My highlights are holding onto heaven and ghost from them

Rockets is really really beautiful

Latch is good but as usual the old Smith is a bit of a hit and miss for me

White Noise :music:

#193: White Noise by Disclosure featuring AlunaGeorge

Year of release: 2013

Peak: 2

Disclosure's second single and most successful, this was held off from number one, quite unfairly, by Thrift Shop.

#192: Wild West Hero by Electric Light Orchestra

Year of release: 1977

Peak: #6

The second ELO single in a string of three number six singles for the band, after Mr. Blue Sky and before Sweet Talkin' Woman.

I really like Thrift Shop too but like White Noise just a bit more ;)

Would've been cool to see it climb all that way to #1 :nocheer:

#191: Teardrop by Massive Attack

Year of release: 1998

Peak: #10

This song, apparently written about Elizabeth Fraser's once-close friend Jeff Buckley, who drowned on May 29th 1997, would be Massive Attack's only top 10 single in the UK. Fraser (member of the Cocteau Twins) was chosen to record the vocals by Robert Del Naja and Grantley Marshall, while Andrew Vowles wanted Madonna to record the vocals.

The song was nominated for Best British Single (losing to Angels by Robbie Williams) and Best British Video (losing to Millennium, also by Robbie Williams) at the BRIT Awards in , and won Best Video at the 1998 MTV Europe Music Video. The video in question, which you can watch above, features a plastic foetus in a womb, singing the song.

The song was covered in 2011 by The Collective for Children In Need. The cover's chart run: 24-48-x

#190: Children Of The Universe by Molly

Year of release: 2014

Peak: #23

The UK has got a very good history in Eurovision. We won in 1967 (Sandie Shaw "Puppet On A String), 1969 (Lulu "Boom Bang-a-bang), 1976 (Brotherhood of Man "Save Your Kisses For Me"), in 1981 (Bucks Fizz "Making Your Mind Up") and 1997 (Katrina & The Waves "Love Shine A Light"). We came second in 1959, 1960, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1975, 1977, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1993 and 1998, and third in 1973, 1980 and 2002 with Jessica Garlick "Come Back".

However, since 2002 the UK has in some way gone off the rails. Excluding Jade Ewen "It's My Time" (whose 173 score is the second-best for the UK ever after Katrina & The Waves "Love Shine A Light, despite coming 5th), and Blue "I Can" (which came 11th with 100), the best score for the UK between 2003 and 2013 was of 29 points, by James Fox with "Hold On To Our Love", anjd we came last 3 times during that period, in 2010, in 2008 and in 2013 where we got 0 points. And Engelbert Humperdinck came second to last with only 12 points.

However, in 2014 we has this song, and it looked like our fortunes would be reversed to the way they used to be. The OGAE polled placed this fifth, just behind the eventual winner Conchita Wurst. And while we only came 17th with 40 points, this is the best Eurovision song since Jade Ewen.

#189: The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script

Year of release: 2008

Peak: #2

2013: #57

The Script's second single, this is apparently in the top 100 most downloaded songs of all time in the UK. It missed out on the top spot due to Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl.

#188: We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off by Jermaine Stewart

Year of release: 1986

Peak: #2

Another number two single, held off by The Communards "Don't Leave Me This Way". Ironically in its second week at its peak position at number three there was a certain song which is also in my top 200 in 2014. Jermaine Stewart would have another top 10 in the UK, Say It Again, which got to number 7 in 1987, and a top 40 hit with Get Lucky which peaked at #13 in 1988. And no, it is not the same song as Daft Punk's 2013 hit single.

Sadly Jermaine died of AIDS-related liver cancer in 1997 aged just 39.

#187: Whatever by Oasis

Year of release: 1994

Peak: #3

This Oasis song was the bridge between Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. It entered at number three on the Christmas week (week ending 31/12/1994, Christmas landing on a Sunday that year) behind East 17's Stay Another Day and Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You. Had it been released the following week it may have been number one.

#186: 9 Crimes by Damien Rice

Year of release: 2006

The first single from Damien Rice's second album 9, which peaked at #4 in the album chart and went platinum but received mixed critical and fan reaction, and Rice himself admitted he made the album at the insistence of his record company.

#185: Cheating by John Newman

Year of release: 2013

Peak: #9

2013: #12

This was John Newman's follow-up to Love Me Again, and this entered at #9. It possibly would have peaked higher had it not been released a week where there was 5 new entries in the top 6. Bad scheduling.

#184: Gods & Monsters by Lana Del Rey

Year of release: 2012

Peak: #39

If you're a fan of EastEnders or you watched BBC One a lot around Easter, you'll recognize this one. It was used in an advert for the Who Killed Lucy Beale? storyline, which said "One of them's a killer" at the end, and it got in the top 40 due to the advert.

Oh, and by the way, the official video's a bit naughty, so if you want to avoid that there's a lyric video aswell, with swearing removed.
